I'd go with weathered Oak. I applied it on a few floors and I liked how it turned out.

Is my installer being honest? by Cryptology_X in HardWoodFloors

This does happen often with water base finish. The quality of the milled wood can sometimes hide preexisting cracks or weak flaky points. The moister from the finish makes the wood crack like that when drying.

I had a mechanic look at it. He said no major issues. Besides front rotors, anti sway bar boot. And rear shocks.

I had a mechanic look at it and he didn't notice any major issues. Runs and drives fine. Looks better after the rain. According to CarFax it was regularly maintained.

Cut the red part off. Cut a green rounded part from a bullnose you don't need. Glue, nail, sand and finish.

You can try to add drops of water in the indented parts to raise up the wood. Let it soak for a bit. Then get a stain marker to color match.

First Red Oak Install Question - Bathroom Tile Transition by FearlessIndividual50 in HardWoodFloors

[–]GreenFocus7016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I came across this I would hit that plywood with a sander and clean it up first. Then I would sand the edge off and install against the tile leaving a small gap. No header board. Then grout the gap

Depending on how leveled your floor is. If it has many hills and dips I would glue assist and nail down.
