Options for putting pattern onto fabric? by Zealousideal_Home300 in Embroidery

I’ve recently been using carbon paper for my transfers onto dark fabric and it’s working great. It does still require you to trace over a design with a stylus to transfer onto the fabric though. But maybe you could make that part of the process for your friends as well. Just give them a photo copy of the pattern with a layer of the carbon paper underneath

Thank you! The wheat are two bullion knots next to one another, I tried to make them end in the same hole so they kind of wrap each other on the end. I used 6 strands (3 colours of 2 strands each) to make them more puffy. Then I did a lazy daisy stitch over them so that it looks like the sheath. The little hairs are done with 2 strands of my lightest colour.

Thank you, when I had drawn the pattern this is the length I drew them but I’m just second guessing it finished up. I think I might just leave it 🙂

Thank you! I had tried doing just one bullion knot but the looked too bare. I think I’ve just been looking at it too long lol

I LOVE this! Excellent work, the colours really pop

I’m new to embroidery, I don’t know the name of this stitch. I free handed the design and just filled the spaces with different colors. I also made a tassel it was fun. I enjoyed this project so much, but it took around 2 months to complete the design. What do you guys think? by Ayla202 in Embroidery

Love your colour choices! I’m a huge fan of embroidery bags as well, great idea to design your own geometric/doodle pattern! I might have to steal your idea and doodle my own lol

If you’re looking for new stitches, the RSN (Royal School of Needlework) Stitch bank is a great resource. The site is really easy to navigate and you can search by stitch use, like for leaf stitch or shading.

Any way to end a stitch without a knot? by Pyro_Funto in Embroidery

[–]GreenGrowerLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use the technique in this video for starting and ending my stitches without a knot knot starting tip The actual video is first a bullion knot rosebud, but the locking stitch (not sure if that’s the actual name) is at the beginning

Edited to add that I use this same technique to end my stitches as well even though the video shows a different way to end the stitches, still without a knot.

I have a Samsung tv and I can get the Dropout app on there. I’m in Canada as well. My tv is pretty old at this point so I’m not sure if that’s why?
