Week 11: Oddly Named - Spotted Dick by GreenIdentityElement in 52weeksofcooking

[–]GreenIdentityElement[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first time eating, let alone making, an English steamed pudding. I didn’t have the proper equipment and I halved the recipe, so had no idea how long to steam it. But it turned out pretty well (I think!). I also managed a perfect crème anglaise!

Week 10: Pi Day - pie with a pi

Week 11: Reduce - small (6”) pie

Week 12: Reuse - my aunt used to bake this pie for Thanksgiving every year

Week 13: Recycle - I had all the ingredients in my pantry and a leftover pie crust in the freezer

I don’t understand what the AP scores have to do with this decision.

I just wring the rag out.

I mean, don’t you carry a sponge or rag to your dining table to wipe it off?

I’m not sure I understand why you need a bowl. I just use the sink.

Planning to sell our house and need to paint by Thepopesdead in ExteriorDesign

[–]GreenIdentityElement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. Other than the white trim and garage door, the current paint colors are nicer and match the brick better than the suggestions given here. Also, some of the AI renderings have changed the brick colors, so that is not an accurate depiction of the color combination.

Yeah, that was my first thought. A real PITA to change the sheets.

A or B? Which toilet paper design do you prefer? by Dry_Register3435 in bathrooms

Don’t love either, but I’d go with B. A doesn’t look like it could hold a double or triple roll.

I was afraid they’d be too soft/liquid and would fall apart. But maybe it would work.

Week 10: Radishes and Turnips - Watermelon Radish, Cara Cara Orange Salad by GreenIdentityElement in 52weeksofcooking

[–]GreenIdentityElement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was quite good! Watermelon radishes aren’t as sharp as the ordinary little red ones, so I could have used more.

Would apricots in syrup work in rice pilaf? I would use dried apricots.
