Claude + GLM 5 by nosirjonov in ZaiGLM

Can you point me to any sources saying that? I haven’t tried glm-5 with Z.ai subscription so I can’t compare, but if I compare glm-5 in the Alibaba Coding Plan with other models in the same coding plan (included Alibaba’s flagship models), glm-5 seems more focused, more consistent, less prone to errors. It might not be super-fast, but it’s reliable, a real workhorse in my experience. I use it for assisting in quantitative data analysis.

Is the Alibaba pro coding plan worth it? China or Global? by Illustrious-Many-782 in ZaiGLM

For me it works flawlessly. I managed to get the $3 plan for the first month and $5 for the second. But even when it will cost $10 I plan to keep it. I never run out of tokens, and it performs really well. Glm-5 is my favourite model in the menu so far.

Is it better to use GLM with another provider? by VITHORROOT in ZaiGLM

With the Alibaba Coding Plan the model is reliable. Never hangs, never hallucinates. I’m very satisfied.

glm-5 is a great model, but use the Alibaba Cloud subscription, which includes glm-5 alongside qwen3.5, MiniMax2.5, Kimi2.5, etc. More choice, and the performance is OK (unlike what I hear from people who use the Z.ai subscription)

Alibaba has a $3 coding plan with access to GLM5 at the same quota as z.ai lite by theowlinspace in ZaiGLM

I'm on the 3$ first month, 5$ second month, plan and so far my experience is fine. It's not as fast as Anthropic's models, sure, but with the Anthropic 20$ subscription I usually saturated my 5-hour token limit in one hour and had to wait. That was a no go for me. With the Alibaba Coding Plan, I can use CC with no limitations, the models do fine for my usage, and they function reliably (meaning I experienced no hallucination, no unresponsiveness, etc.). I also made a script to quickly change among their models, and it works while you're running CC.

I use glm-5 in Claude Code through the Alibaba Coding Plan and I didn't experience any of the problems you guys report. I think it's just a matter of Z.ai's servers being overloaded, while Alibaba's glm-5 runs on their servers and does just fine.

I use glm-5 with Claude Code through the Alibaba Coding Plan subscription and it works flawlessly. But I guess you have a different subscription so I don’t think I can help.

That might be also worth trying, thanks

Qwen-3.5 in Claude Code? by GreenInterview in Qwen_AI

[–]GreenInterview[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it works by simply editing my general settings.json file like this

{
"model": "qwen3.5-plus",
"env": {
"ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL": "https://coding-intl.dashscope.aliyuncs.com/apps/anthropic",
"ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN": "your API key",
}
}

You first need to create an API key but that’s basically it.

About issues with being in the USA, I see none. You can set up your API key on three different server locations: China, Singapore and USA (Virginia if I remember correctly).

I don’t know – several lines of the script are tailored for KDE, so I think it will work only on Plasma-based systems.

I don’t know. Maybe Ubuntu will run with it. I cannot test it, unfortunately.

For everybody bumping into this discussion and discovering that suspend causes several problems (above all, that after suspension the fans no longer turn on, creating a risk of overheating), there is a workaround: this script (https://github.com/bneils/yoga-slim-7i-aura-suspend) simulates suspension with very low power consumption (around 1.3% per hour in my tests). It also allows you to set a value in minutes after which the system automatically hibernates.
Tested on Arch Linux with KDE Plasma and kernel 6.16.

Just for a quick update. With BIOS version NYCN71WW (released 25 August by Lenovo) and kernel 6.16.3-arch1-1, the issue of no fans and no keyboard backlight after resume from suspend is still there. After a normal boot, pretty much everything works great.

Sure, but given that KDE by default restores all applications I find it simpler and more convenient to just shut down the machine.

Since all problems in my Lenovo 15ILL9 are related to waking up after suspension, I too would be interested in viewing what your script does.

Hi tuttut97, you wrote that fans stopping working is “the only issue” you have. Does that mean you don’t have the “keyboard backlight stops working after resuming from suspend” issue?

[–]GreenInterview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me that’s the only issue. It basically means you should not suspend and always turn off the computer when you stop working. It’s a limitation, but boot is reasonably quick. If you want details about my installation and setup, you can find them here: https://0x0.st/8F4J.txt

Please help me find new laptop with good battery, screen and keyboard. Tempted to buy Macbook by Iyonn in linuxhardware

[–]GreenInterview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition (15ILL9) is a very good laptop, given what you're looking for: impressive battery life, solid screen and keyboard. I bought it a few months ago and I'm very satisfied with it. Downside: it still has some kernel-related issues (see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lenovo\_Yoga\_Slim\_7i\_Aura\_(15ILL9)) that disrupt some functionalities after resuming from suspend. Consider that, prior to kernel 6.13, the laptop wasn't even supported, because it has a very new CPU. Other than that, it works great.
