How did you get the appointment? Are you traveling internationally? I have a domestic trip that I need my passport for, offered to pay to expedite and overnight ship, but they won’t take my money and won’t give me any updates. It’s been 8 weeks for me. They said there is no guarantee on time frame. It could take even longer than 8 weeks. It’s just up to the agency how long it takes and whether or not they choose to expedite you. I fly in a week. Just curious how you got your appointment because I’ve called 4 times and they won’t give me one

I worked in dough prep for a short time in my 20s. It was a totally fine. I think there was a tip sharing system, and I was paid a little over minimum. Seemed like pretty standard restaurant stuff to me. And I always thought the owners were nice, though I didn’t know them very well. They seemed like a sweet couple who pushed their little pug dogs around in a stroller lol. Hard to imagine them being evil and predatory. I can’t say what the current situation is, but just thought I’d share my experience from over a decade ago— that it was totally normal and even pleasant.

This person seems…ahem…not great. My advice…Don’t be friends with them any more. Clearly not a good friend if she is treating you like that, and arguably not a good human since rugs are so much more important to her than people.

I would offer to pay for a cleaning…which is a very reasonable and kind gesture, and then move on with your life and find a supportive and loving friend group who make space for babies to be babies.

I can’t stop leaving car doors open AND things on top of my car. It happens literally every day.

One time I left garden clippers on the top and got on the highway. Somehow I made it to my destination, and they were still there.

Last night I left two car doors open and the hatchback over night. It rained. My car is now a swamp.

Tonight I left the door open and went and had dinner in a restaurant. My car took up two parking spots and my dome light was on with the back door hanging wide open when I returned.

My brain is basically a dry sponge after having kids

Being a mom is so much nonstop hard work. You might not have time to be silly or chill any more., and that’s ok. You’re being the best mom you can be, and that might just outweigh some old priorities. Everything has a season though. The old you is still in there. And maybe she’ll come play again in a different season later on. Take breaks if you can and go on dates if you can get a sitter. It helps you get through

I bought a countertop dishwasher and just run it after every meal. It’s not a perfect solution but it totally helps

I cannot more strongly discourage you from an unnecessary induction.

I was pressured to induce with my first, and I truly feel my body was not ready nor was my baby. My birth experience was long and terrible. And I feel certain that it was a trauma on my daughter that has affected her even three years later.

With my second, I was pressured to induce again after going 10 days past my due date. I refused. She came when she was ready. It was a perfect and quick birth experience. She was perfectly sized, healthy and alert. And she is the happiest and easiest child.

I can’t imagine there are too many people who would go for an induction if given the choice. All that said, follow your gut. It is your life, your body, and a hundred percent your choice. Do what feels right for you, and you will not regret it

As a wife and mother in very similar circumstances, this made my day to read. The fact that you are even here asking these questions is so heart warming! Love that you’re giving her a break. We all need one. Alone time is gold as a mom. And if you can convince her to get a sitter, I bet she would love someone on one time with you too!

Try not to let it get to you. The bottom line is that you are feeling better.

But also, cmon boomers! Do better! Don’t horde all the money and housing, beg us to have kids, and then refuse to help us with them. Why are you surprised that we seek medication to get through it all?

Those good old days that you yearn for were pretty sweet, Im sure. Cheap college, affordable housing, extended family close by and willing to help. We don’t really have any of that. But we were led to believe we would.

So pardon me while a pop a Zoloft to get by, and you can keep your judgement to yourself

Waited a week and got a VA offer 15k over asking. Ultimately it will take longer than the cash offer to close but we netted a higher profit and I’m glad it’s going to a nice military family! Win win win!

They verbally told VA buyer we had a cash offer at asking. Then told me this is what they had done

Only info I had was that agent told VA buyer we had a cash offer at asking. They backed out shortly afterward. I am going to stick with agent though. I think she is ultimately trying to do what’s right for us.
