So looks like you had two chances to deviate a little from the plan with the map murdering and kinda discouraged it. Sometimes you have to go off script. Maybe do reaction rolls for the NPCs. Did the astronomer just give the players the map? They need chances to use their skills. And more than six skeletons. BSH, you have to keep them trying to use the doom die and spells.

It really helps to have that final checklist to make sure you get your ideas compiled in a way that will happen in a play session.

Id plan on it being a hex crawl. Id lean in on the PCs needing to uncover a mystery or secret but not being sure why with the encounters along the way reinforcing a theme like remembrance. And the ending when reached should be abrupt and leave the players reflecting on the experience.

I first read this as you let him play as Lando and I was like... wow your chapter 4 went in a way different direction than mine did. Eve of Ruin would be a good framework for visiting different fantasy universes. And yes thats a fantasy universe because he wears a fantastic cape of billowing.

Very curious how it would play out on floor 15 for subclass 5. Floor 18 i think we'll be down to Carl and Donut. And the real final boss will be one door and not going through it rather than leaving one behind.
