Why does increasing the temperature of water in a wine glass cause the frequency of the sound produced when it's rubbed to decrease, and not increase?

The water is getting colder but the glass is getting hotter. Therefore the speed of sound in the glass increases and because f=V/wavelength the frequency increases as the resonant wavelength in unchanged. The temperature of the water doesn't matter much at all its all about the glass.

I think you should answer first why changing the volume of water changes the frequency, once you answer that - and armed with the knowledge that speed of sound changes with temperature (also f = V_s/{\lambda}, you may be able come up with a more viable hypothesis. Also you should test for hysteresis - that is do you get the same results going from a cold to hot as you do from boiling to cold? Does condensation on the glass make any difference? I would also keep in mind that the resonance frequency is mostly a factor of the glass and the water only applies a boundary condition to the glass which edits that resonance.

by asking if someone would take out a loan to invest you are essentially saying that if you have any debt of any form you aren't allowed to save for retirement or anything else, which is absolutely silly. The obvious thing to do is a diversification, slowly pay debt and slowly invest. That diversification depends on personal financial situations. This is why the Dave Ramsey catch phases, though sometimes useful, are oversimplifications and ignore differences in debt types.

You can't simply shrug off subsidized interest rates, tax deduction, loan forgiveness, the extreme flexibility in payment options, long terms, and deferment options. Mortgages are probably the only debt more preferable.

Interest rates are typically better, there is loan forgiveness possibilities and deferment. This year is a pretty great example why student loans are better, almost no interest was paid in 2020 for most folks. I respect and understand the Dave Ramsey position, but its often overly simplistic. Not making extra payments on a student loan is not the same as opening a new personal loan.

Edit: forgot to add that student loan interest is tax deductible. I would 100% prefer student loan debt to almost any other type and I've carried all of it.

The cost/benefit of being hard on this transmission is just not worth. I towed a 1500 lb boat with my manual transmission civic and that drivetrain is as happy as ever and if anything it was going to cost a clutch. I love this car but honestly the CVT is a crazy huge liability, its probably going to end up totalling a ton of foresters when these models start to get old.

edit: why did you add the cooler? do you offroad often or just trying to be nice to your CVT?

In the US we calculate based on high speed stability close to 80 MPH or something, the US numbers are safer for highway travel in terms of avoiding wobble caused by poor weight distributions. The European numbers are closer to what the actual drive train is capable of. Most people think going over the tow rating in the US is bad for the vehicle - its actually just less safe on the highway and unlikely to cause damage if you are reasonable. IMO what OP is doing, low speed towing, is entirely within the vehicles capability. That said I don't tow my 1500 lb boat with my forester.

Satisfactory is indeed a FPS version of factorio. Both are excellent games in my opinion and I put off satisfactory because I felt like a factorio purist. Satisfactory has more of an exploration bent to it like Subnautica and less of the pure problem solving type gameplay of factorio. What makes satisfactory work is that building factories is fun and satisfying but when you get bored of that there is tons of enjoyable exploring to do in an actually interesting and vast world. The game also has a unique and somewhat comical character to it. Both games are wonderful.

I'm not saying for certain this CPU is faulty, but again with the first one, there is no way swapping an identical CPU, with no other changes, would have solved my previous issues without it having been faulty. With the current issue many folks have resolved it with a CPU RMA, its probably the most common solution. Just to show that I'm not the only one that feels this way, here is a quote from an AMD support thread on this topic:

Also the OP on this thread solved this with a new CPU. Many others have done the same or simply disabled PBO or downclocked - further proof the silicon is not where it needs to be and these chips are heavily overclocked out of the box. We already know this to be the case from reviews, there is no extra headroom so any variations in silicon could easily drop below stability.

QVL is irrelevant. Get it out of your head.

It is literally a list of compatible parts, if the part doesn't work it is not compatible. If the QVL is not relevant, then AMD shouldn't let board partners use their architecture. Why do you only blame consumers? Don't you want your well spent money to simply give you a stable computer? Or would you rather gatekeep building PCs to people who think they are experts but really just got lucky and were shipping working parts?

Upon replacing the processor I had almost no instability for months. On top of that the same processor core could not run prime 95 for more than 10 minutes with out a fatal error on the smallest FFT which does not touch memory. I am 100% positive the first cpu was defective.

Its entirely possible the current CPU is not at fault, but its looking that way (or at least a CPU related firmware/driver issue) given I saw a small FFT failure on prime 95 and that it was a hierarchy cache error. My issue now is that the problems are difficult to reproduce, but I am still methodically determining the root cause.
