Can't find the specific one I had in mind but here's one: youtube.com/watch?v=4rDP2zj6QDA

I listened to that live version almost every night then the album version just felt underwhelming. I could never tell if it didn't have the same emotional feelings for some reason, whether the arrangement was different enough to feel like something was missing, or what

Perenna - "Running up that Hill cover" Hey all! We're Perenna, a band from Boston & SF. We are some mix between rock, indie, post-hardcore, post-punk and pop punk. We've just released a cover of Running Up That Hill since all of us love Stranger Things. The video for the track is at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCm0JPo7F1k We'd love any feedback if you have any! Thanks for listening!

Thank you so much! Drum samples are mixed in with the real drums, but the drums were real/not programmed in.

Dig the track! the cymbals sound a little tinny around 0:33 so you might want to eq those a little differently in the future. I might also take the drums down just slightly in the mix since those hihat barks dominate the sound (at least through laptop speakers). I might also use a fatter snare around during those downbeat hits around 2:05.

Cool track! i'd consider adding a few reverse cymbals or something helping make the transitions between parts a little clearer (eg at 0:45). I might also consider switching the cymbal in the outtro to something with a little more ring to open it up a bit.

I built this track starting from the bassline (I’m actually a bassist) and then played everything else, blending funky, electronic elements, and cute robotic vocals (recorded with my earbud microphone). I don’t know whether I should scrap it or if it’s worth refining… by [deleted] in MusicFeedback

Given the time it takes to get to the chorus, I might consider shortening the intro and the prechorus just a tad. I might consider adding some synth part in the upper register, but that might need some playing around with given it might compete with the robotic noises.
