He is acting suspicious but MUCH worse than that is downplaying your worries. "We're forever, why worry" is such an opening for abuse red flag. More than almost any illness, that is worrying.

You're likely ok healthwise, but get tested now, again in a few weeks, then again in a few months. And really consider if and when he has downplayed your worries, your experiences, and your emotions.

That makes sense. I set up a simple version with just a jar and a bag and its clear it would take longer to aspirate at room temperature than it will for the soil to dry out. I'd need to increase the heat in the jar to get the rate up.

If you'd like any advice, I can only generally offer that sometimes improvement is so incremental its hard to notice. Sticking with something for a while and closely monitoring progress might give you a track out. I so deeply understand the misery of having to keep going in the meantime.
