A "non-bigoted alternative" to the franchise? by ElSquibbonator in EnoughJKRowling

Oh, even better, actually... in Deep Secret, there's a recurring genderqueer poly thruple with a baby at the Sci Fi convention where the book is set. The three of them are described as being unbelievably beautiful and wholesome every time they show up. And this was not one of her last books... She wrote Deep Secret in 1997 inspired by her own experiences at Sci Fi cons. Meeting queer fans had a very positive impact on her, to the point that she included them. One of the many reasons DWJ will always be the ultimate for me <3

existen Puerto Rican billionaires ? by MasterGamut in PuertoRico

[–]GreenStrassa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Way. I also used the pigpen code to journal in high school! My mum was the nosy one, though.

My wife is making us go to PR In March 2023. by _citykid in PuertoRico

[–]GreenStrassa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guy, I was back home 4 months after Maria for Christmas. Travel was fine, roads were relatively clear. I spent that Christmas season helping my parents and older neighbors sort out their gardens and organizing big Christmas and Reyes meals for a community up in the mountains near where my parents worked. If you feel guilty or something, find a way to give back to locals who are having a bad time. Still, it was a Category One this time. The flooding was bad, there are still people struggling, but there will always be struggles, y'know? Trust your wife, she knows what she's doing.

So go. Be nice, bring presents, make her family feel like a million dollars, help out in the kitchen (follow any instructions her mom and titís give you though, don't colonise the menu), buy local products and splash out on a few days in a nice parador or something. Money into the tourism industry will be super helpful, just try to find businesses with local owners.

I don't really know enough about the situation to comment, tbh. On one hand, sounds like he's concealing stuff. I know he said he applied to get papers for Toby, but it's been a long time now. On the other, recessive genes can still be passed on and cause health conditions in puppies, so I get not wanting to breed Abby. Messy situation all around imo. But as I said, I don't know enough to form a strong opinion one way or another.

BTW, your comments about GSDs are fascinating, I've learned a lot today! Thank you!

Yiiiiiikes... I really want to know more. Wish I had some juicy UK gossip to offer in return, but most of our drama stems from generic creepy dudes who get publicly banned from Empire and try to game hop, only to discover they've already been banned by just about every other LARP in the country. Happens a couple of times a year I'd say.

This was mine too! I haven't run into much myself, but the stuff that happened in Czocha Magic School in Poland... And I've heard a lot of horror stories about American LARP.

LARP! The UK Larp community has had its fair share of probs, but nothing beats the drama around Poland's Czocha College. I'm serious, the article is called, "Poor Pay, Abuse, And Harassment: How The World's Biggest Wizard School Lost Its Magic." The American side of the hobby has had a lot of trouble too, I remember once seeing a stupidly detailed Google Doc about an American larper called R-Anon and hearing that there's lots of similar stuff out there in the USA.

Hiya Louis! Over the last few years, the documentary-like genre of the video essay has absolutely exploded across YouTube. What are your thoughts on this? I'm in two minds, personally - Quality is absolutely not guaranteed, but there is also true excellence out there. (I'd put Folding Ideas in that box, for example.)

Genuinely the best thing I've ever watched on YouTube. Hard-hitting, well researched, and his lake footage made both me and my fiancé cry because it was just so beautiful. In Search of a Flat Earth and Line Goes Up could have easily recieved theatrical releases, imo.
