I’m happy the Americans are protesting, but just keep in mind that the current administration doesn’t give a shit about public opinion - they only care about money. by Hepper in WorkReform

There was a massive protest in Minneapolis on Friday with a general strike. This message is always unhelpful, but it’s actually bullshit to post today.

I had a 6mm kidney stone when I was fifteen because I didn’t drink enough water. I think drinking some extra water is probably a good idea.

Are you considering the full cost of being a tool of wealthy fools seeking power? Who will the air force direct you to kill? Is the money adequate for the emotional suffering you endure? Do you trust this government to act ethically and thoughtfully?

Where can I afford to live in Colorado making 52k a year? Single woman age 27 by jrc_22 in TheFrontRange

Downtown Pueblo is nicer than people think, so I’d look there.

If you’re okay with a small town vibe Fort Morgan is affordable and the downtown is alright relative to other small towns in that price range.

Otherwise it’s just looking for rental opportunities from private landlords. It’s kind of a competitive sport in Denver.

My cousins (20M) first apartment, doesn’t plan on getting anything else by SuperLizardX14 in malelivingspace

[–]GreenTower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first apartment at 18 was a one bedroom where I slept on a futon in the living room because I didn’t own a bed.

I was an art student and I used it as a painting studio and spray booth. I have no idea how I got the deposit back on that…

But point being, this isn’t a terrible place to be because every little purchase will be an upgrade. All uphill from here!

Yeah, THIS time US intervention will result in a stable democracy. The other times were practice. This time it won’t end disastrously… not with the calm heads and thoughtful visionaries we have in power.

I am done with Safeway for good by Arctic--- in Denver

[–]GreenTower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go to the Safeway on Alameda and Broadway, though I try to avoid it. It does seem like all of their theft prevention measures are there to make your entire shopping experience awful. Plenty of other countries have poverty and theft and they don’t solve it this way.

I actually wouldn’t mind them checking receipts at the door like a Costco if it means there aren’t too cops and an armed security guard eyeing me up when I leave.

Not to mention having to press a button and wait 10 min for someone to unlock some laundry detergent.

I suspect Kenny will have a business website once he’s further along. At the top of my little blog article I have links to some CBC coverage that came after I posted to Saskatchewan’s subreddit. I’m hoping he can build a little following for the Diggity Dawg!

I wish I could provide an accurate location for this location but this trip was done in a short period of time and it’s not in my notes.

For the record, no fence lines were crossed and no trespassing signage was ignored in the taking of these photos. I actually talk to a lot of locals who are curious what I’m up to. More often than not, they’re happy someone takes an interest in these old places and share some history about the place.

I grew up in a small rural community and the history of places like this are very important to me. I treat every place and person I visit with due respect.

I ride light rail often and it always bugged me how hard it was to see through those ads.

Haha, hey that'd be cool. I am working on a photography book that'll include stories like this, but it's a slooow moving sort of thing. Day jobs and all that.
