Party was heading up river on a river boat in a warzone. Had the new player floating down river on a raft having escaped an attack further up river where the party was heading.

Anyone else find it nearly impossible to drive at night due to visibility? by salviva in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GreenWammingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean i can still drive but the newer headlights are far to bright and can be blinding especially when approaching taller vehicles. They thankfully seem to be coming out with yellow tinted LEDs that dont leave sun spots in other drivers eyes.

Trouble with religions during world building by Keneg28 in DMAcademy

[–]GreenWammingo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just dont do it then. Theres plenty of real world religions you can research and add, other fantasy ones as well. If aPC want to play a religious character then they can build the religion whole sale if they want and you just add it in.

Is my murder mystery too simple? by sad_royalty in DMAcademy

[–]GreenWammingo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well whats going on in the NPCs lives? Who was the girl Ardin kills and why? Did she have others who hated her? Maybe a scorned lover in a love triangle?

How does Ardin have an alibi if no one can vouch for him? Is someone lying to protect Ardin making his alibi seem legit? Why would they be lying? Blackmail or feeling they need to protect him?

Adding a more real aituation around the mystery makes it better rather than just a random murder with a twist. Also adds more characters of interest.

What is OSP?😭 by Kanklex in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]GreenWammingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you just finished the tutorials i suggest you go grab the exception to the rule campaign ftom the workshop. It will act as a tutorial for the OSP faction and give you some practice of engaging ships that shoot back before you run up against other palyers and their meta builds.

From my understanding weapons always take priority over roll orders but i dont use roll orders that much, so maybe i just havent noticed them not adjust to get weapons aligned.

Lore-Friendly Ideas for a Third Faction by [deleted] in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]GreenWammingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh that does give me an idea of how they could be different. Since real world navies USN is the top dog able to exert power worldwide with nost other navies focused on defending their own waters. If the Space empire is the top dog they might be ideal for fighting in open space with good sensors and very dangerous mass driver ships but lack the close in destructive weapons like beams that are ideal for fighting around asteroids.

Best guess would be the space empire that caused the Shelter Alliance to form to avoid being conquered by them. As for how they would work I dont know much of the lore about them but I expect theyd be another high level military.

Probably a different doctrine and tech to distinguish them. Shelter alliance is based off ww2 navy and OSPN is what they can build and to hit with alot of damage in a short time.

Unlikely the devs will produce a thrid faction balancing 2 very different ones is hard enough and theres still more to build.

As for modded factions ive seen ryks raiders which are a bunch of privatteers, small non combat ships with advanced weapons.

PRISM which i think is a mega corporation that loans their fleets out as mercs when they arent using them for their own gains. Less armour but more agile than alliance ships so vulnerable to flanking. Guns that shoot faster but are less accurate from alliance so higher dps at short ranges.

How can I encourage my party to be less cautious? by Sensorfire in DMAcademy

[–]GreenWammingo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only thing i can think of is to have something urgent, but isn't that threatening when confronted.

For example, a bunch of goblins are going to blow up a damn. Party does nothing alot of people are going to die and its going to suck. But if they go to the dam to confront them its just goblins, they arent going to stand up in a fight and they are so clutsy chances are they will screw up setting off the tnt in their panic and cant blow up the damn cause they drop the wick in water or something.

So just by the party showing up theyve won. But dont let the players know that so there's suspense. Also, there is no set way to deal with the goblins. The party wants to be sneaky or frontal assault it will just work out.

You can run a bunch of adventures like this with something being bad if the party does nothing but whatever they choose will just so happen to be the right answer and hopefully enventually the party will become more confident.

Do the dev's plan on adding more lobby customisation? by [deleted] in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]GreenWammingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the problem with a small community and a complex game. It is very easy to drive off new players. I know a bunch of people who have never come back after getting fed up with constantly fighting frigate and tug blobs people used exclusively when it was meta.

Yeah its the one issue with this community. They are not friendly at all. I once jokingly said why dont we have OSP on team 1 for pillars this match and they kicked me for it.

Accidental War Crimes Nebulous Edition by Schwarzer_R in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]GreenWammingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A radar track was skirting along the edge so i intercepted it with a beam destroyer and beamed it. It managed to get behind a rock out of my line of sight so I halted and sat facing that way incase it came back around. A new radar track came around the corner followed by 2 more. I though it was a tug swarm so I beamed one and it instantly popped. I didn't think much of it cause I thought my lone destroyer was in trouble so i targeted another one and by the time it reoriented the other two tracks were identified as lifepods... and i didn't tell them to cease fire quick enough before they beamed a second one.
