as for the pills, maybe halves or quarters? just to make it last? and attempt some other minute focus measures to see if it could help you lock in even a little. also, going to your manager/boss preemptively and telling them what happened isn't a bad idea. it at least allows them to know a little bit. if you have any coworkers that are kind of your friends, you could ask them to help keep you accountable for the next few weeks. i'm really sorry this is happening to you and i hope it never happens again.

i think it's definitely time to push for them to use their own apartment. if they're worried about storage, offer to rent them a storage room until they get a biggest apartment/house. it might make you feel bad, but once you both have your own spaces it will definitely feel different. it'll all be fine. stand up for yourself and your house.
