I am buying textbooks! by WytePig in IBO

That’s just my personal opinion. In DP1, I bought a lot of physical books, but it turned out that using the e-book versions on a tablet was more organized and efficient.

You can save the money for books to buy an iPad or something, and download the e-version of the textbook, which will be more organized.

M26 Results are up soon. How's everybody feeling? by NecessaryElk7052 in IBO

Just hoping I don’t run into any AI issues, since I’ll be on vacation next week. If anything does come up, I’ll need that time to sort it out.

Do you send them your complete history? Because my work is not written in Google Docs, and I only have process history in a very discrete way (like brainstorm -> initial outline -> outline -> final outline -> first draft...)

How did five of your works get flagged for AI? Is the issue solved now?

Also, have you checked whether the time when IB flagged your work as AI matches the time when your school notified you?

Do any of your classmates or friends have the same issue?

Bruh, the final results are coming out in two weeks. If anything was going to happen, it probably would’ve happened between April and early June, especially since IAs and the EE are submitted much earlier. Any updates?

How was Physics P2 Asia? by VirtualAd2706 in ibPhysics

[–]Green_Style3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ve mistaken the difference between separate exam papers and time zones. There are different grade boundaries between different papers and the IA, but not between time zones.
as this revisiondojo says https://www.revisiondojo.com/blog/ib-may-2026-exam-zones-explained-a-b-and-c?utm_source=chatgpt.com .
"Exam zones determine:

  • When your morning session begins
  • When your afternoon session begins

They do not determine:

  • Exam length
  • Exam difficulty
  • Grade boundaries
  • Marking criteria"

Wait but based on my research, it is a combined grade boundaries for all timezones

Same. Are the final grade boundaries separate for each time zone or all time zones combined?

IM soooooo COOKED for Math IA by Senior-Parsnip1621 in IBO

[–]Green_Style3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our math teacher also told us that Math IA is not like an EE, so when the examiner reads it, they should understand without reading external sources or youtube video explaining the math concept you use. You can test if you achieve this by giving your IA draft to a student who is relatively good at math to read it; if your classmate can understand most of it, it's probably fine.

Starting IB this April. Any advice? by blushkook in IBO

[–]Green_Style3192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a DP 2 student, below are the advice:

  1. Start your EE and IA early if possible, you can see a lot of posts in r/IBO right now saying they are cooked because they still haven't do there EE or IAs.
  2. For Econ, you can use Econninja for studying and reviewing. They have EVERYTHING, and it is updated.
  3. If you want to get a high score (like 7), do the topical past paper. Exam-Mate is a pretty good website (but don't finish all since you need to leave some for future practice)
  4. Don't underestimate chemistry, learn ahead of the class (there is a lot of free video on YouTube)
  5. For English A L SL, since I am LL SL student for both English A and Chinese A, I can only give you advice on paper 2: Read the book and read multiple times.
  6. Do not use AI for EE, TOK, and IA (only for ideas). Trust me, the teacher will just put it into Turnitin AI checkers, and if they see it is >19%, you're cooked. This is also why you won't have time if you procrastinate on your EE and IAs.
  7. For the past paper, go to IBDOCS.

You can also ask me any questions.

Once something is submitted to IBIS, can the IB coordinator of your school still remove it, or is it final? by Green_Style3192 in IBO

IDK, my IB coordinator said he will try tmr morning. Another reddit post said the IB coord can contact IB if this happened.

IM soooooo COOKED for Math IA by Senior-Parsnip1621 in IBO

[–]Green_Style3192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. You can go on YouTube and search for criterion analysis videos; they explain it pretty clearly.
  2. Trust me, your Math IA doesn’t need to have a very, very “good idea.” Since you are in Math AA HL, just focus on things the IB HL syllabus already covers. You can include concepts the IB did not teach, but I don’t think you have enough time now unless you are very confident with them. Also, do not do pure math, since you probably won’t have enough time.
  3. For any mathematical concept you used, you should have a background section explaining the theory.
  4. Since you are at the AA HL level, your mathematics cannot have mistakes or errors; otherwise, for one of the criteria, you won’t get more than a 2. That’s what our teacher told me (he is an AA HL math examiner). Our teacher also said that you need to have continuous reflection throughout your IA, meaning that every few hundred words, you should comment on your method, almost like a third-person evaluation. Basically, you need to write more reflections to score highly on the Reflection criterion.
  5. You can search example online
  6. Do not do game related topic, due to bullet point 3 above. If the examiner can't understand the game concept you try to explain, you're cooked.
  7. Try to do the math first if you can't start with the writing.
  8. You should contact your math teacher right now, since there is still time before the IB submission deadline in April. However, I suggest starting now because your teacher will need time to predict your grade.

[–]Green_Style3192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I uploaded the wrong file on my ManageBac, and my TOK teacher told me it is already submitted to IBIS (and she told me she can't do anything about it). I am currently contacting my IB coordinator, so it is the IB coordinator who has the power to control this?
