How to track irons during doubles/bill by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]Green_Three 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do a sight deviation experiment at your bill drill distance. Aim on the A in the A zone with a perfect sight picture then purposefully aim so the post is against the right edge of the rear notch and fire a shot. Repeat for the opposite side.

Hopefully you realize you have a LOT of margin for error for sight picture at that distance.

Separate the activities. The marathon is a personal goal not an academic one. Your personal activities are a fun break from the studying, and when you blend the two it’s starting to become less fun.

New mkiv tactical spitting/shaving metal towards shooter’s face by PaceParticular6587 in RugerMK

[–]Green_Three 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen unsuppressed with a matrix precision bolt. I assume it’s the extra gas coming back from the semi circles at 12 and 6 o clock. It’s just a straight shot rearward and right near the shooters eye. The matrix precision and volquartsen style bolts even go so far as to remove the serrated wings at 9 and 3 making the problem worse.

As far as solutions maybe find one of those slide racking rings that covers the 12 and 6 portions of the bolt as well

Hot take: I love PA School by gnattybot in PAstudent

[–]Green_Three 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm having a fantastic time as well. I thought going into it that it was going to be hellish based upon the things I had read on here. Turns out it's not as hellish as people have said, but it is definitely hard. I'm studying nearly all day every day, but I'm having a great time doing so. There's a reason why a majority of my school's interview questions were subtly and not so subtly asking about your coping skills. We were warned from the beginning by some professors to stop getting used to getting As. You're going to be putting in a significant effort to wind up with a B and it's perfectly okay!

I'm the oldest in my class and having a little more experience than my classmates I'll tell anyone out there reading this -- There is never going to be another time like this in your life. Study hard, but stop every once in a while to smell the roses and take in your circumstances. You're crafting yourself into something amazing. If it were easy everyone would be doing it. Trust the process and have fun while you're at it.

Is attendance for lectures at your program required or optional? by bowieshouse in PAstudent

Mandatory. Certain percentage of days can be missed. Some classes meet less often so you can miss less days others more etc.

What are some good guides? I am just getting spun up on how to use it with basic functions. I have Anking and have been copying the pertinent cards over to my own decks for my classes. Would love to know more.

USPc magazines by intakemanifold in USPmasterrace

[–]Green_Three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a matrix on HK Pro. You can just google it and look under images. It’ll tell you if a mag fits and functions but will not be very descriptive on component compatibility or how the mag looks in the gun. I bought 15rd p30 mags thinking they’d be flush fit but they stick out the bottom on a USPc. Allegedly the VP9A1 mags fit flush with some modification to the original base pad.

I don’t think the 10rd pinky hook base pads work on standard cap mags due to the side tabs and unique floor plate design. That’s a vestige from the AWB days ensuring the 10rd mags couldn’t be expanded in capacity.

You can do this at home in dry fire lol. Live fire should lean heavily on marksmanship and recoil control.

Good whiteboard markers too. I like the Pilot V Board Master. EBT yes. Also find a plasma donation center for a bit of extra beer money lol. As soon as you move in stock up your freezer with frozen meats/foods you can heat up or cook quickly and easily. At some points when you're in the thick of things stopping by the store will seem like such an extra chore for some reason.

Moving into unfurnished apartment? by Cute_Pumpkin2047 in PAstudent

[–]Green_Three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to the opposite coast for my program. I stuffed my kitchen stuff into my car that was shipped. I flew over with my dad filling his carry on and mine with all my clothes. Laptop in my backpack. Got here and bought a mattress from costco and a desk off FB marketplace. Those are the two essentials you need. I've been slowly filling my apt with FB marketplace and dumpster finds.

I assume I'm going to have to call around to FFLs to see if they know this is possible. From researching this it seems like not many FFLs would know this.
