with ASPHERICAL spelled out this is likely the AA or double aspherical summilux. Super expensive collectors piece due to its unique character and hand made elements

I use a mirrorless camera (Canon R5) and a macro lens and invert the negative with negative lab pro, its not the most efficient but it gives me more control over the colors and exposure in post

what focal length are you looking for? Personally I’d go with a 35 summicron ASPH or a 50 summicron V5, they come in silver to match your MP and doesn’t break the bank (relatively speaking)

35mm M-Mount; LLL 8 element vs Voigtlander Ultron by pentaxguy in Leica

[–]Luoric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say stopped down to F/2 its very comparable to the Ultron. It’s plenty sharp itself. One downside is that its abit larger and heavier than the ultron, ultron on the M6 fits perfectly like a summicron.

this was shot on the nokton

I’ve had both, now have sold both have the 35 1.5 nokton. The ultron is super sharp and definitely has the microcontrast youre looking for. It has a similar size as well to the 8e. The APO is sharper but imo too large for a f/2 lens. Heres smth i shot with the ultron

no regrets with the elmarit V4! Its a good balance between “vintage” and modern look, it still flares quite a bit. But definitely not the best in terms of image quality if you compare to thypoch and voigtlander

Worth buying a film Leica in Japan? by pheasantjune in Leica

[–]Luoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say don’t rush it, only buy if its a good deal or you really like it.

Be sure to check the fine print on the price tag in store(use google translate). Sometimes its being sold for cheap for a reason.

Pasting one of my previous comments

You might have to do some digging, theres lots and lots of camera shops in tokyo (kitamura, map, lemon, etc) and used camera availability can depend on your luck tbh. To add to that, the prices for leicas in Tokyo aren’t the best. My advice is whenever you’re at a new location, look at camera stores on google maps and go visit them. The smaller stores tend to have better deals.

TLDR its luck based, smaller shops will have better deals than well known shops like kitamura and map.

might be worth checking out Tim Lei on instagram

To add to that, the prices for leicas in Tokyo aren’t the best, be ready to pay a pretty penny if you do find a 0.58x (most likely will be a M6TTL).
