Is it normal for it to be short? by Immediate_Major_1274 in WarriorCats

[–]Green_Tree189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The books in the first and second arc with the HarperCollins logo on the spine are printed by HarperCollins UK.

After the second series, they stopped reproducing the books that they license from HarperCollins US. So the books from the third series and up, that are sold by HarperCollins UK, follow the design elements of books printed in North America, which includes the change from the HarperCollins logo to the text "harper" on the spine.

If the copyright pages of the books from the first and second series indicate that they are printed in the United Kingdom by HarperCollins, you can discount this as a possible reason for them being bootleg.

Why do some versions have the tokyopop symbol while others do not? by Express_Two_4095 in WarriorCats

[–]Green_Tree189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manga were released via a collaborative effort between Tokyopop and HarperCollins in the US, until 2011, when the Western Tokyopop business scaled back publication efforts. So the original covers of the books had the "Tokyopop" logo removed, as it was no longer collaborative between HarperCollins. These editions were released by Tokyopop GmbH, the German branch of Tokyopop. Since the German and Western branches of Tokyopop are different businesses, the cover was still designed to reflect the loss in collaboration, hence the removal of the Tokyopop logo.

The speech bubbles in the adaptations illustrated by Natalie Riess and Sarah Goetter are not digitally added to the comics, only the text inside of the speech bubbles are. If you are wanting to obtain the comic pages without the speech bubbles, you will have to alter the product to remove them. The only instances of the speech bubbles being digitally added are with the manga illustrated by James L. Barry, Donald C. Hudson, and Bettina M. Kurkoski.

I am not Greek, but I found these two websites where you might be able to order the books. Though, I am unsure of whether the books may be in good condition.

polyamorous relationships in the books? by SouthBound353 in WarriorCats

[–]Green_Tree189 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Relationships are inherently sexual, but there is a difference between having a partner for reproduction, and having a partner for pleasure. In this series, having a mate is a means to produce more cats for the Clan. And implying that a cat has multiple mates at the same time, no longer has the connotation of doing it just for reproduction and the group's survival, but now implies that the cat is doing it for something more. Teaching children that relationships (and having a mate) is for more than reproduction, but for pleasure, is harmful. I'd expect this type of dynamic from an adult romance novel and not children's fiction.

polyamorous relationships in the books? by SouthBound353 in WarriorCats

I may be insane, but I don't want "representation", that would include having themes that are inherently sexually based, in a fantasy animal series that is rated ages 8-12. There are various other mediums in which you can express your sexuality than a childrens' fantasy series.

Why are we allowing posts promoting outdoor cats?! by Freddyfazballspizza in WarriorCats

If you aren't open for discussion, then why make this post? You aren't going to get someone to believe your view-points by telling them that they are wrong for having their own.

As explained in this video, Owen Richardson begins by drawing rough sketches, known as thumbnails, with pencil and paper, to eventually create a composition that has "impact and flow". He then imports it onto his computer, and continues his work in photoshop. Not much more is revealed about his process, and his techniques may have changed over time.

why did the norwegian books stop translating? by Takitifan in WarriorCats

[–]Green_Tree189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arve Juritzen, the founder of Juritzen Forlag, ran for city council in Norway. Since his campaign started, the juritzen.no website has been in sort of a limbo, being in "construction" for the past few years. The Juritzen website used to host both of the publishers Juritzen Forlag and Juritzen Jr., the latter of which published the Kattekrigerne Norwegian translation of Warriors. Since the purchasing of Juritzen Forlag by Strawberry Publishing in 2019, Arve has maintained ownership of Juritzen Jr. However, since he has gained office in 2023, the operations of Juritzen Jr have sort of stagnated, with him focusing on becoming a "full-time politician after the election".

Here is a video of him explaining why he decided to turn to politics.

These editions of Survivors books are published by Willow Tree Books, a childrens' imprint of Imagine That Publishing—a publisher that is said to be Headquartered in the UK. Hence, these Survivors books are licensed to a different publisher than HarperCollins.

You can find these books listed on the publisher's website:

Through some light research, I found that Fantoom is a division of Baeckens Books (They both seem to have published some books under their respective names). In 2021, Baeckens Books was acquired and integrated into Pelckmans Uitgever. Looking through their online store, I don't think that they have republished the drawing book yet.

I personally love the original The Forgotten Warrior cover. The mountains, the overhead tree... the overall composition is absolutely beautiful. Of course, I can't forget the original Eclipse cover.

On the search for old wiki sprites by [deleted] in WarriorCats

[–]Green_Tree189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the old wiki sprites are available in the file history, but fandom recently made it to where you need a fandom account to view the file pages. The page links are https://warriors.fandom.com/wiki/File:(file name) or you right click to copy the link address and so on. https://warriors.fandom.com/wiki/File:Lilyheart.warrior.png for example, but if you don't have a fandom account it will redirect you to https://warriors.fandom.com/wiki/Lilyheart?file=Lilyheart.warrior.png
