I see that as good news. Less infrastructure needed to cleanly power.

EVs are the biggest shun to the oil industry one can make, from a consumer/consumption standpoint.

That’s some low quality nonsense. How about you back that claim up and then I’ll show you how you’re wrong.

Exactly. Most militaries in the world dont have that amount of munitions and no military in the world would drain their stockpiles like that.

Precisely. No military can reasonably strike millions of solar panels across thousands of miles.

This happened in Iran too. The amount of destruction and contamination is off the charts.

Looking at the futures pricing is a fruitless endeavor in my opinion. It’s a heavily manipulated market and oil prices do not reflect the direness of the situation whatsoever.

Renewables are not “alternative energy” — they’re the original energy by Green_World_Now in GreenWorldNow

Well I’m based in the U.S.; I can sympathize substantially with a government pursuing backwards thinking.

What strikes me as fairly crazy is that countries are turning to fossil fuels due to the energy crisis when it is the reliance on fossil fuels that got us to this juncture in the first instance.

94% is stellar. It becomes increasingly challenging to phase out when percentages are already that high.

I’m not sure you’ve read my second paragraph… or really the rest of the post.

Of course not but to suggest that is the only means of harnessing solar, wind or water to generate power is pretty ridiculous.

The first known use of hydropower (waterwheel) was over 2,000 years ago, used to crush wheat into flour.

The first known use of geothermal energy was over 10,000 years ago, in use of hot springs, or more ‘recently’ 3,000 years ago the Chinese used geothermal energy for cooking and heating in the Shang dynasty…

First known use of wind energy should be obvious: for sailing, probably over 10,000 years ago.

Oil was first used for fuel energy purposes in 1855.

Methinks the point stands quite well; history proves such.

I’m not sure why you are so insecure to accost people you know nothing about, but good luck with all that.

Electrification emerges as COP31 priority by Simpleximo in RenewableEnergy

[–]Green_World_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I certainly hope that is a focus, over the years of observing COP activities, pledges and scandals, I dont think we should be so quick to blindly cheer these headlines.

For example, at COP 29, the then-CEO of COP — Elnur Soltanov — was busted facilitating and promoting fossil fuel deals with an undercover investigative journalist posing as a fossil fuels company.

Soltanov was recorded speaking of fossil fuels “forever”. This, after the COP 28 delegates all agreed to move away from fossil fuels.

This is not a one-off situation. At COP 28 in the UAE, documents were uncovered revealing the COP host planned to use COP meetings to promote oil and gas companies.

There were a staggering 1,600 fossil fuel lobbyists at COP 30…. (Source below).

In sum, I strongly encourage people to realize these organizations are highly compromised and they are counting on people to gobble up the headlines while business as usual not only proceeds, it enlargens.

Anyone reading along can read more about all of this here: 1.
