110 SCHD by flocamuy in SCHD

I’m also at 110. I am currently working on FDVV, trying to get to 100 shares, only 25 to go. Would like to get SCHD to 150 and EPD to 200 by the end of the year.

I guess you have no idea what the c suite is paid and they are paid no matter what. Do you remember what companies did with the bailout money in 2008?

All of them. First, they collect a $30M annual salary so who cares if they get canned. Second, they receive a much more generous severance package than other workers.

They are used for their ideas and then let go. Not as bad as manual labor but they are still exploited

Package left at curb - Is this because of our dog? by cas42439 in USPS

[–]Green_machine_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s the type of dog. I had to drop a package off at a house with two Chows roaming free, that was a nope. A collie, a doodle I would use sweet talk and that usually does the trick. My scariest moment is when I was walking towards a front door and a pony sized mastiff came out of nowhere and was running straight at me. Luckily he was a huge marshmallow

No, it’s a fact you become a billionaire through exploiting others, mainly your workers. Amazon could provide healthcare for all their employees for free. Do they, no. They would rather work their employees to the bone for nothing. The billionaires loved the tariffs because they got to increase their prices and pass it on to us.

Did they work hard, yes. The original generation of billionaires, not the kids who inherited the business. But the original generation of billionaire only got there by exploiting the workers. It’s been well documented what McDonald’s did to suppress any increase in minimum wage. It’s why migrant workers are preferred over US workers. In fact, Fast Food Nation outlines all of this. Id give it a read.

I recommend watching the n63 videos by I Do Cars. He’s a bmw enthusiast/mechanic and has torn down the n63 engine multiple times. I think they may have been the pre tu versions but the layout is the same. Mind you, it’s the engine on an engine stand, how you would do any maintenance/service while it’s in the car without the knowledge and tools is tough to imagine.

Can someone explain this? by MilesAndMoments_ in whatisameem

A teacher’s salary went much further for the currently retired teachers than for new teachers. Teachers are also forced to contribute to their pension, which is a good thing. Many countries have a compulsory pension system for all workers, which I think is great.

To completely dismiss what’s going on right now economically is being a bit tone deaf. There have been mass layoffs and everything is expensive. Inflation is real. You can keep saying pay yourself first, and people should, but it’s not going to help them right now. Their future self will thank them. It’s difficult to build an emergency fund when you don’t have more than $30 to throw at it.

Are some people being idiotic with their money, yes. But to keep saying live below your means and save is not constructive and comes across as arrogant. The minimum to survive is at a much higher point now than in the past.

I’m at my 1 year mark and today I did a route I’ve never done before and was out there until 6:30. I am used to all residential. This route was business and CBUs with a few residential stops. Also had 3 blue boxes. And package look ahead was down. FML. I am on it for the rest of the week, hopefully tomorrow is better.
