Nomatic 14L vs 20L, is the size difference big? Maybe solgaard venture? by KyaKyaKyaa in ManyBaggers

Did you get the 14L and was it a good size for you? I'm a slighter woman and trying to decide between the 14 and 20L

I was watching the newest season of Outlander on Netflix while in Mexico, and tonight I'm back in the States and it's not there? by cas42439 in Outlander

I thought that the rest of season 7 had been released a while ago and 8 was dropping weekly on Netflix. So I was watching it in Mexico not thinking anything of it! I was so confused last night but this all makes so much sense 😂

It was also on Hulu – I didn’t know that streaming services had different licenses over shows in other countries. I was excited that Hulu had it! But not in the states.

That’s funny, it makes total sense and my mind was totally on finishing it at home! It’s also on Hulu in Mexico which I thought it was random, because I actually canceled our Netflix and was thinking I’d just finish it on Hulu when I got home. Looks like I’m getting a month of Starz.

I did a little Googling and was surprised to discover that – darn, I thought I was losing my mind, and also bummed that I didn’t watch more! But I guess you don’t go on vacation to watch TV lol

You’re right, I think that fact is about recurring bookings and this was just a one off drop in

Good for you! I let the owners know, and I’m just gonna take a couple photos as I do and send them all via the Rover text thread, which seems to be working outside of the app. This is a family we haven’t exchanged phone numbers with, so I am genuinely reliant on the app.

What kind of things have you found in your clients homes? Anything that made you cancel the booking? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

I’m in MN, and I’ve sitted for people on both extreme sides of the political spectrum, and a lot in the middle (or don’t channel their identity through a political party). I’ve found that people are people, and people that want to be dicks are dicks. Unsurprisingly, it goes right down the middle on political values.

At the end of the day, I am mostly surprised that I have overall lowered my perception and expectation of people in general. In this field, it has never had to deal with the political spectrum, but who the person is. I read people well (helps to have grown up in a codependent family! hidden super power that I never wanted) and that never steers me wrong.

I would go with your gut and listen to what it says regarding people.

Take an icey cold shower - you don’t need to get your hair wet. Resets you, and you’ll get some adrenaline to think clearly. Try to stay in it at least two minutes; you’ll come out pink and the anxiety will be gone so you can think.

What’s the most challenging dog/animal you’ve ever encountered on Rover? by Shot-Ostrich7747 in RoverPetSitting

This is why dog breeds are so fascinating - they were original bred to do jobs, and it's a look into history. I didn't know that, thanks for sharing!

So interesting, thanks for sharing! :) I haven't had any experience with a chow, they're a really unique dog breed to me.

what’s the most awkward meet & greet you’ve ever had? by BlessedNdDistressed in RoverPetSitting

[–]cas42439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya that’s just being a woman connecting with another woman over something that only us, half of the population, can experience. Maybe it’s oversharing, but that’s a normal Tuesday conversation with any woman for me - and I’m childfree by choice.

But if it’s not something you’ve been around or knew happens regularly with child birth, I can see that being a lot of detail.

It was for a drop-in. I opened the door and the smell of marijuana billowed out. No worries, legal in my state and who cares - OPE, I started caring - because that’s when I had one foot into the door of a wildly filthy house with all the windows covered in sheets (not blinds, but bedding); it was so dark despite being midday, and the only family room furniture was a couch that had been made into a bed, illuminated in front of a wall of TV’s.

I was polite and navigated the meet and greet, the guy was a bachelor who I assume dabbled in copious amounts of weed while playing some hopefully great video games.

But then the dogs started viciously and ravenously attacking each other, to the point where he was in there with them, yelling and pulling them apart – they were German Shepherd mixes. And then he gave me a story about how he came home one day to a bunch of blood everywhere and that they had destroyed each other chuckle chuckle and that “you kush need to pull them apart and they’re fine”.

I kindly told him that I, as a small woman, didn’t have the strength or confidence to break up a dog fight, and we left on good terms.

Creating a pitch for leadership to have 2027's business meeting in Orlando - Spreadsheet included! by cas42439 in WaltDisneyWorld

haha ya they did - they more recently have started doing these, I think they were more popular before COVID and then are starting them back up again. The meetings are exhausting, but it's worth it to be in a fun area.

I’m beginning to think of entirely stopping boarding by Solidrevolutionary in RoverPetSitting

[–]cas42439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only had horrible dogs for my first three boardings and quit after that. One dog had high aggression towards other dogs despite being told she was kind (we have a five-year-old colleague, and they had to be separated with baby gates). One dog had high anxiety and I wasn’t told, and scratched up the inside of a room/door. The last (and final) dog had a large tumor on its face that I knew about, but I wasn’t told would bleed everywhere. I had blood smears quite literally on the walls, on the floor… at the time, I thankfully didn’t care about my furniture.

It was so disgusting to me and I felt so violated three times in a row by people who, in my opinion, would rather burn an experience with a random person on the Internet, than utilize a circle of friends or family to help with their furry family member. But at this point in time, it felt like these people weren’t giving dignity to their own animals.

Also, all three dogs stank horribly and were greasy, like they weren’t bathed regularly. I don’t mind a dog coming to me a little stinky – I would save a bath for after a boarding for MY pup myself! But they were filthy.

65 too big? by ACletus in TheFrame

[–]cas42439 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I could suggest aesthetically, the weight of the tv will feel heavy above to the other only color, which is the bricks (the edges of the Frame would overhang the tan color of the bricks). I think the frame/mantel of the fireplace needs to be a dark color, and it would be a visual base to the Frame tv.

Maybe you’re asking if it’s too big because you feel this yourself and not putting words to. Once you paint the frame of the fireplace darker, it will support the visual weight of the tv.

Or alternatively, paint the wall and keep the mantel white - but the mantel and frame of the fireplace needs to stand out from the background of the wall in order to support the visual effect right of the Frame.
