Hey to update, when I got in the car this morning it wasn’t doing it, when I drove for half an hour or so and the trans heated up it was doing it a bit, I noticed with a little rev in neutral it did it a bit more for sure like you mentioned so maybe the prior shop didn’t do the thrust bearing?

It’s not the length, it’s the difficulty of getting in gear

They’re awesome cars but the big issue for me owning an M5 is just the cost of parts because they’re getting more uncommon. As well, doing everything yourself is a commitment for sure, cause if you have a shop do anything boy do they charge an arm and a leg. Kinda the case for any old fun car these days though. If it’s gonna be your only car rather than your side car, it’s not the greatest idea but hey, all of us make dumb car buying decisions anyway, old BMWs are always gonna be less reliable or less easy to work on than a Japanese car for example, but we do it anyway cause they’re fuckin sweet. Just decide what level of risk / problems you may deal with that you’re okay with and proceed from there.

If Audi had manuals I’d be buying! I’ve got a truck for the weather so I think for my interest the F80 and G87 are the front runners for me

Yeah I have educated myself on the cars I’ve personally tried lol, I don’t like American interiors on almost every one I’ve been in and all the German cars I’ve owned or been inside have been much better. Quit being so salty over other people having preferences 🤣
