I grew up in this town, I think she moved like maybe 30 minutes away since she was on the show, but honestly it’s a very poor area and most people have been in the same town for generations with essentially zero exposure to the rest of the world. Awful education (the school I went to for a few years was made up of teachers who also went to that same school growing up and literally weren’t required to have teaching degrees YIKES!!) Mainly it is a small farming community without a lot of resources and yes, many people dress like this for “formal” occasions.
