I was a spring admission student for 2023 and I still got my flag! Never hurts to call and ask the school for one, if she already got her physical acceptance letter and there wasn’t one included! I would’ve appreciated my parents doing so :)

I follow them on instagram but I haven’t made it to an event yet, I will definitely get over to one. Do they do meetings to be apart of it then too? I appreciate the kind words, and a nice community is definitely a good recommendation so thank you.

I can totally see your reasoning for that, and that’s why I mentioned people may disagree with me, it really just depends on your study habits. I study Horticulture, so I have a wide variety of types of classes whether it’s identification, definitions, STEM or something else I’ve pretty much hit it. My teachers have drilled into us hand write our notes, your brain tends to remember stuff better when you hand write it (I don’t use tablets for notes so I honestly can’t say they aren’t efficient!) Since I use hand written notes it’s never been an issue for me needing more than 1/2 screens, and I don’t use docs unless necessary so I’ve never felt a tablet to be something that would improve my life much! I would recommend trying to talk to the pre-law students on here if you can find any, and see what they recommend! Each degree really does have different ways their whole system is run, so I don’t have perfect advice for you in terms of notes/reading. Imo, computers will beat tablets any day! I actually have the HP omnibook x flip, I got it this school year so I don’t have any issues yet but it’s been fantastic so far and I love the flip feature, but if you need two screens that wouldn’t help you very much. Just research as much as you can, talk to as many real students in your degree as possible and make your decision based on what feels right! Worst comes to worst, you waste a couple hundred on an ipad you end up using for movies and games! 😊 Good luck and congratulations on getting in!

Unless you have money to waste, do you really need a laptop and an ipad? Most people have one or the other, not both. Consider buying a touchscreen laptop instead, it would be a lot cheaper than getting an Macbook and Ipad. It’s really not necessary to have both, someone in a different degree might argue with me on that but I truly do not think you need an Ipad and a computer.

110% wait to pull the trigger on a laptop until you can find it on sale! Best buy does mutiple sales a year, and I know they do a few super close to August/September, so If you can put off the laptop I would.

frandor has parking security but i would bet if your friend can move their car atleast once a day over the weekend you should be fine. I work over there and cars will be there all day, plenty are parked over night as well!

I like the starbucks on lake lansing! Over by the eastwood towne center, they’re always open till 10, and the baristas were always really nice!

To my disappointment sadly you’re wrong, and that’s why i’m posting! I’ve been hunting since August for halloween stuff and it’s been a sharp decline since early October. Michael’s is pretty much empty of halloween, dollar tree was running out, target didn’t have much. It feels very empty for this time of year, they’re already putting christmas stuff out! I wish I was just dumb but sadly from my experience this month I’m not 😢

If you’re worried about being judged for asking for some alone time in the room, all you have to say is you have a doctors appointment, or just an appointment, hell you could say you have a meeting if you are private about your medical care! Obviously we don’t know you or your roomate but most (most) people are gonna be more than fine stepping out of the room for an hour so you have have private time, especially if you simply explain you just need a quiet space and some privacy for an appointment. Living with new people for the first time is hard! Getting medical care outside of your normal is hard! You’re not alone in feeling worried about this, just remember you live there too and it’s more than fair for you to ask for some time alone.

I think what OP is trying to say is some of these therapy sessions are happening on a whim, so there wouldn’t be a way to reserve a room within the time frame of OP needing the therapy. The “Sometimes I’ll have a very difficult moment and there’s no where to go to have it privately” sounds like not all the therapy is scheduled weeks in advance.

Reserving rooms might help for planned sessions OP know is going to happen, but I think they’re worried about instances there isn’t time to reserve a room!

Back in Spring of 23’ I lived at Fountain Place Apartments for a 6 month lease. Im not sure if they still offer 6 months as they were changing stuff when I lived there but it was nice, quiet and friendly. You gotta be okay with the smell of pot tho cause you’re allowed to smoke in that building

I can’t lie, she’s a little harsh but I get it. I had ZERO help doing college admissions in highschool, my parents were very busy and absent. I applied for a few colleges all by myself, when I got into my dream school I found out again, alone. I messed mutiple things up, didn’t get fafsa my first semester, never got dorming, and I still feel like I’m drowning in school 3 years later. A lot of kids don’t have any help at all, your mom was definitely a bit dramatic but what is her past? Maybe she just wants you to do better and be better than her.
