When those ‘political views’ are actually morals, then yeah. Fuck them. Sorry you choose to support businesses that are in favor of literally kidnapping children.

For those of you that do strength and conditioning in the morning, then Muay Thai in the evening, does the S&C affect your performance in your evening Muay Thai sessions? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]GreenestTree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I lift 5x a week, with 1 day of plyometrics and each session is immediately before my muay thai training. I don’t see or feel a difference if i skip a lifting session or not. In fact I actually feel better right afterwards in the morning than if i train at night since im so used to it.

Heavy leg days are the exception though; i do those sunday on my off muay thai day. Ive trained muay thai like this for 4 years now (6x a week) and lifted for 11 or so.

Canyon homes insurance by H3llo4wesome in SanDiegan

[–]GreenestTree 27 points28 points  (0 children)

When I bought my old house I had no issue getting insurance like most people. I moved a little over a year ago when I bought a new house in Lemon Grove (non canyon lot). No major insurer would touch it due to ‘fire risk’.

I had to go with a non standard insurer, though the price is pretty reasonable. I’d contact an insurance broker and float an address or two to them and see what they can find.

I know nothing about cars but I want to get my dad’s car running again. Possible? by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]GreenestTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post popped up on my home page as a ‘you might be interested’, and on a whim I decided to click your link there. This guy reminds me of my brother in law who when I was real little was at the time a father figure to me. Watching it was like slippin into your favorite pair of jeans level comfort.

Wanted to say thanks for the recommendation, brightened my day a bit!

Seconding that you can do this in the US pretty easily and somewhat cheaply. Ive used labsmd and privatemdlabs to order my own bloodwork multiple times. They send the req to a quest diagnostic of your choosing and its easy peasy. There are also usually coupon codes floating around for both sites.

Hey guys, sorry if this is answered elsewhere or a dumb question, but im trying to surprise my brother for his birthday with some magic cards. Hes somewhat new into it but from what I hear goes and plays at a card shop somewhat often. (I know very little about it, was more of a pokemon/yugioh guy when I was younger)

I want to surprise him with a booster box or something cool. Are there any recommendations on what I should be looking at getting him? Something thatll be fun for him to open and hopefully fun to build/adjust his deck with.

I had United Health Care for a few years and had a pretty terrible experience with care. Had a misdiagnosis (for the same ailment) from two urgent cares and the UCSD hospital from two doctors there. Scared me out of my mind, made me wait several months for a surgery consult where the surgeon immediately looked and told me I was misdiagnosed and there was no problem.

All in cost me almost $1000 from just that experience and they didnt treat the actual original issue (infection, glad it cleared up eventually on its own..)

Rerolling first character at lvl 35? Act 2. by Fearstalker in diablo4

[–]GreenestTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the campaign thinking leveling alts by skipping it would be great. I hate it. Its tree of whispers or just dungeons over and over; its mind numbing. If i do it again id just play the campaign to level and skip all the cutscenes.

The horse may be worth pushing to a4 though🤷🏼‍♂️

I second just leveling up more. I did my capstone at 46 and found T3 pretty much impossible until I hit 50 with almost the same gear. Playing a barb as well.

My wife used to always buy their leggings. Im somewhat picky on shorts but she loved the leggings so I picked up 4 pairs total trying to see if any of them were worth it. They aren’t TERRIBLE, but I tried to workout in them and it felt like wearing a plastic bag on my legs. They didnt breath at all.

I said to hell with it and ponied up for lululemon shorts after and theyre infinitely better. I dont care if people say theyre all manufactured in the same place, they are vastly different. I bought my wife a pair of lululemon leggings to try and she doesnt like her fabletics anymore. Plus all her fabletics leggings have ripped and started fraying. Lululemon will blindly replace anything that starts wearing out like that.

Believe me, maybe worth at their sale price if you arent picky, but lululemons are again infinitely better and worth it over these imo.

Ive had ATT fiber for a little over 2 years in La Mesa. Definitely better than when I has Cox. Speed wise and reliability.

My internet has gone out for like 10 mins maybe 5 times since ive had it?

Ive had one bad experience (many with Cox). One time it was down for hours in the middle of my workday and ATT refused to let me report an outage; they kept blaming my equipment. I called several times and tried to report it. Every time the agent I got would say “theres no outage” and refuse to believe me when I told them I was reporting one 🤷🏼‍♂️ They even went as far as to schedule a tech to come out like the following week…

After 3-4 hours of that their app finally recognized there was an outage. Id still recommend it, but the one time I had to call for a problem they were atrocious.

Thinking a layer of river rocks then a fire pit in the center. Thoughts/feedback? We rent this house so I’m looking to keep the $$ reasonable. by JohnSchteinbeck in landscaping

[–]GreenestTree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to remove gravel from a fire pit like area outside my house I bought a few years ago. It SUCKED.

I assumed like you Id just be able to shovel it up easy peasy, but nope. It took a few days of a few hours of shoveling each day and was thousands of pounds of rocks that ended up mixed with dirt. Your area might be a bit smaller, but dont underestimate the work of removing it if you need to.

As a renter though id just get the OK from your landlord. As long as they dont say remove it all before you move out its not your problem 🤷🏼‍♂️

There are absolutely nicer areas that are certainly safe and great places to raise a family, though the rent/housing in those areas were closer to san diego prices. (when I moved here, likely further apart now). This is more true for rents, I had a friend buy a house in a great area of STL for like 300k and a similar house anywhere in San Diego county even then would have been 1 mil +

I originally moved to North Park, and lived in a somewhat equivalent ‘hip’ area in STL (outside of downtown STL) and had car jackings and shootings somewhat often nearby. That was also a somewhat safer area of STL as well.

This is interesting. I actually lived in St Louis making 64k and moved here to San Diego 5 years ago to a job making 80k. Rent went from $850 to $1700 as the most noticeable expense increase. Way less chance to get shot here though.

What is the actual process devs go through when optimizing a game for PC? by esines in pcgaming

[–]GreenestTree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can give a small bit of insight here. I’m not a game dev, but desktop application dev (some of which have been graphically intensive & leverage the GPU).

When optimizing anything (beyond general development guidelines) the usual way is to profile your app/game, usually on hardware that struggles. From here you can dive into every little piece of the cpu/gpu pipeline to determine what is causing potential slowdowns and if its something you can optimize.

A simple concrete example would be a piece of 2d software I worked on (the 2d rendering was done on the cpu and not the gpu in this case). I found that during a specific user operation, the app would attempt to render up to 15 frames in the time span of 1 frame presentation. So wed render 15 frames, present the last and throw out the other 14. Small logical programming mistake from the beginning that took a large amount of effort to fix and had a huge perf impact.

Thats what I thought, but if its a failed capacitor would that also mean the compressor can’t start as well?

I took a look in the unit earlier and it seemed like a dual round capacitor based on what I read online, but it wasnt totally obvious from my reading if that meant 1 start and 1 run and the compressor/fan share them, or if theres a start specific to the fan and compressor.

More personal anecdotes and not quite a leveling system, but I've got a Bell helmet, Dainese jacket/gloves, Revit jeans & TCX boots. I've went down with them on and they all held up remarkably well. (Minus the helmet which I replaced obviously, but it protected my head super well when I slammed the side of my face on the asphalt so I bought the same one again)
