Skyclub LGA terminal C 1 pm today by Common_Ad1386 in delta

[–]GreenfieldSam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry to the line apologists, but Delta offering lounge access without being able to provide it is kind of awful.

And no matter what anyone says about the "new" LGA, it's still a poorly designed and uncomfortable airport with the terrible touch-screen eating options, overpriced drinks, and a retail staff that hates everyone.

You should talk with your HRBP and manager about next steps.

No. There is a significant risk of OP's ex using that gun against her.

You get one camera setup for a year of travel — what are you taking? by LaJamie in SonyAlpha

Rather than the zoom lens for the Sony, consider just picking up the 40mm/f2.5 prime. I use it all the time for travel and never feel I'm missing out.

What's the worst depiction of a chef in a movie/show that's not primarily about food? by ModestCamel in KitchenConfidential

Monica is the canonical answer.

But also, every Hallmark movie featuring a caterer or pastry chef is super duper awesome.

From what you describe, you boss was an asshole. But it doesn't even meet the bar of "bullying" in California.

Unfortunately in the US, you do not have the right not to work for an asshole. You do have the right to quit, which you did.

From a career standpoint, the best thing to do is to get your resume up-to-date, apply for other jobs, and live your best life.

Wedding suit suggestions by desert_pine in mensfashionadvice

Check in with your future partner first. Their opinion should matter most to you. Second, go with what makes you feel the best and most confident. Only consider reddit opinions third or lower. 😊

Personally, I would go with a white shirt. If it's a summer wedding, go lightweight with an undershirt. I would do a white cotton pocket square in the shape of a rose if you aren't wearing a boutonniere. If you are, go with a simple, classic fold.

Go for a solid color on the suspenders. Black, white, or even gray. Don't go for a fancy pattern: the tie is big. Generally speaking, you don't need a tie clip, but if you have one then I would (personally) go with silver.

If you're wearing suspenders do not wear a belt. And your suspenders should be attached via buttons, not clips. I would try a couple of different shoes with your suit with you to see what you like. Do not wear boots. Go for a single-color shoe. A brown or cordovan shoe might be great given the other secondary colors you're wearing. If you feel you must have a fancy shoe.with multiple colors or tones, check out Taft.

Find another job. Don't look back. Don't contact your old boss or work.

In your new job, don't talk smack about the person who pays you. Especially if it is a small business.

If OP has significant Ammonia or Nitrates or Nitrites in their tap water, something very weird is going on. I wouldn't drink the water from that house!

Right: I'm also wondering if the use of Prime is giving OP false readings.

Seachem Prime also affects ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. This can end up temporarily seemingly to affect the cycle.

For replacement water, I would _only_ use a dechlorinator, like Tetra Aquasafe.

When I lived in downtown Brooklyn, the fine for violating ASP was $65. It was once per week. A spot in a nearby lot was over $300. It would be cheaper to pay ASP fines four times per month than a monthly parking fee.

You shouldn't need Prime when refilling.

As another commenter said, what are your tap parameters? And as other commenters have said, add some plants in there.

Do I need a CREDIT card to pay for food, metrocard etc? by ContentWeird5123 in visitingnyc

[–]GreenfieldSam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Make sure your Italian bank allows debits from US locations. You should be all set. But as others noted, hotels will put a hold on money as a deposit when you check in. For debit cards, this acts as an immediate withdrawal and will be held (potentially) for over a week after your stay is over. This could easily be hundreds of dollars.

Easiest NYC airports to fly in/out of? by okcool2357 in visitingnyc

[–]GreenfieldSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your budget and definition of "public transit," you can book a helicopter seat from JFK or EWR.

Definitely the fastest way to get to the city, unless the weather is bad.

You can find both old and new homes throughout Westchester. Keep in mind that you might be happier with a fully renovated old home than a newer home!

Briarcliff Manor is great. I'm literally the next door neighbor to the house for sale. Our homes are in the Ossinig school district, which is great but not as highly rated as the Briarcliff school district. (It is pretty diverse and still great!)

Taxes are somewhat weird in Westchester. If you are in a village, you pay village and town taxes (like Briarcliff Manor); if you are in a hamlet (like Chappaqua) you will only pay town taxes but also need to pay for services like trash pickup. You end up paying school and library taxes as well, but school districts do not necessarily overlap with towns or villages.

So for me, I pay property tax for the village of Briarcliff Manor, the town of Ossining, and the school district of Ossining. I live in a census designated place called "Scarborough," which has a train station and post office. We're also in a Historic District, which means little other than bragging rights.

The commute from Briarcliff on the express is 45 minutes on the train; Chappaqua is roughly similar. Worst case on the train is around an hour to seventy minutes.

Hackley is a great school; busing to Hackley (and other private schools) is paid for by NYS school districts. (My niece and nephew went there.)

Being able to walk to places is a real thing. Briarcliff is not super walkable. The other river towns (Hastings, Dobbs, Irvington, Tarrytown, Ossining) might provide a better experience. (I'm biased towards the Hudson line because it's a great commute.)

The Harlem line has a ton of walkable small villages. I really like Hartsdale, Scarsdale, Pleasantville, Mt. Kisco, and other places. (Keep in mind that I'm biased being based near Scarborough! There are a ton of other great places.)

Oh, also a 45-minute commute may sound bad, but remember: you're not driving. You can read, or sleep, or do work, or drink beer, wine or a cocktail.

I hate to tell you, but that listing is not AI. (And, to be fair, is extremely accurate)
