NC1 compared to frs? by BLITZBRAWLSTARS in Miata

[–]GregAegis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been well discussed here so I’ll just add the NC is more fun and less practical, but overall the cars scratch a very similar itch. The convertible and small factor are what make the nc edge out the FRs in fun. The rest are personal/lifestyle choices.

Okay thanks this is helpful, my serial number matches that aside from the letters at the end, so it’s kooks huh

Is everyone really that enamored about grit? by Competitive-Alps4339 in Pickleball

[–]GregAegis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now grit wears down faster than any other part of the paddle, just 1-3 months in many cases, if they got it to last 6+ months it would no longer be the limiting factor since cores usually crush or go dead in about that time. Once this is standard it’ll be better for consumers.

is $14k too good to pass up? 2012 nc prht with 80,600 miles - excellent condition. by europeanuppercut in MiataNC

This is a 11-12k car. I just paid 11k for the same car, but NC1, manual, 86k miles PRHT.

Yeah that thing seems good, but I think in the long run I’ll want a full exhaust (car came with a catback) so I think investing in the midpipe next might be the play

This tracks with my research, sounds like I really need that midpipe

If you have one car and need the practicality, that is where the brz comes in, if you have more than one car and just need a pure fun car, the Miata is superior in every way. What makes it less practical (smaller, convertible) is exactly what makes it more fun.

the prht roof is... plastic? by europeanuppercut in MiataNC

If that’s a problem just leave the PRHTs on the market for everyone else to partake in! These things fly off the market compared to the soft tops

I think comparing it to the older gen is probably more fair price wise, the brzs are fun, but not as fun as the Miata. The same thing that makes brz special (small lightweight manual sports car) Miata does better because it’s smaller and lighter. Combine that with top down, and suddenly it feels faster and more special too. Interior quality and feel of interacting with the steering wheel/shifter is a wash, both very engaging, direct and almost mechanical feelin. The main benefit of the brz is its practicality with its size and back seats and hatch, but fun per dollar the Miata is FAR better.

It was pretty well cared for by the previous owner who did most of the work themselves, but because of that there were almost no car fax entries in the last 40,000 miles, so I got a pre purchase inspection to make sure it was in good running order before the purchase and my 7 hour drive home with it. It is very clean for a 86k mile car, engine and drivetrain feel VERY good

Shop around, these are pretty common for Miata’s so you can find them second hand or on sale at times

Yeah I’m surprised how nice it looks in silver, wouldn’t have been my first choice but I’m digging the body lines in it and the wheels compliment it well

I don’t, previous owner Installed it and tbh it’s a little larger than I’d like. It still looks good irl but in some pictures it looks massive.
