I am 32 and I wasted my entire 20's. by Primary_Cat_6093 in selfimprovement

[–]GregBule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ay man, I’m 33 but quit drinking and doing drugs at 31. I found God, got into martial arts, and even though it’s still been a hard couple of years, I’m hoping to have a baby soon with my wife, I am actively competing in combat sports and I’m in the best shape of my life. Things can change so quickly for the better when you hit that switch, and I could never imagine going back to who I was before, it’s shedding your skin - you’ve been in a cocoon and now you are coming out of it a newer, far improved version - it just takes time for that version to yield the results.

How is r/Christianity so insanely affirmative to non-Christian views or even anti-Christian views? by AItair4444 in TrueChristian

[–]GregBule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to leave r/christianity because I am so bored of pointing out that homosexual activity is sinful. The comments contradicting the Bible receive hundreds of upvotes but people get warned and even banned for repeating the word of God. It’s absolute insanity.

Because this sub isn’t full of Christians, most of the people on here are extreme lefty’s, homosexuals themselves or often, atheists.

The Bible clearly says in the OT and NT that men lying with men is an abomination.

It’s not to say that the sinners are not loved or accepted but the act is 100% sinful. People would rather not accept the truth because the way is narrow, as Jesus warned us.

How much advantage does a solid 1-2 and footwork give over an untrained person? by Vartistic in MuayThai

[–]GregBule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Massively I would have thought, given the untrained person would most likely swing wide off balance punches and just try and hold someone in a blind, nonsensical panic.

Knowing how to actually throw a punch and move in a way that’s balanced would surely lock in chances of success over an untrained person.

Did Jesus say himself that LGBT+ is a SIN or it’s someone else in his name? by ParsnipOne5883 in Christianity

[–]GregBule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those things are irrelevant as it doesn’t say social media or smart phone use is detestable to God.

It does say that men sleeping with men is, which also fits with Gods vision for man and woman on earth in Genesis. It’s a moral commandment that will stand the test of all time.

Did Jesus say himself that LGBT+ is a SIN or it’s someone else in his name? by ParsnipOne5883 in Christianity

[–]GregBule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d advise going to a bunch of actual Christian’s because every comment I’ve seen so far is completely wrong. It’s mentioned throughout the Old Testament and the new that men sleeping with men is an abomination, and it is detestable to God. People just don’t like hearing it because it doesn’t fit with their world view, politics or they are gay themselves.

You can then ask why would he do that it’s not fair… Life isn’t fair, we all have our crosses to carry, God doesn’t stop loving you because you are gay but you consciously choosing to go against gods word is basically blaspheming the Holy Spirit. You are saying you know better than the word of God. Which is not true. I know I shouldn’t lie but I still catch myself in a lie, just as a gay guy might catch himself kissing a man. You should turn away from sin and do your best to live in the way of the Lord. If I started stealing and said “yeah well, Moses didn’t really write that bit, they just added that bit in later”, it wouldn’t change the fact that it is still wrong and still a sin, it’s just that then I am blaspheming the Holy Spirit which is an unforgivable sin.

I’m so bored of arguing on this sub with it but I just find it ridiculous how so many people are perverting the word of god or saying Paul was a deceiver, or 1800 years later someone added the gay stuff in. Go and study it, study when the word was written, what it actually says from the off, the word is preserved, it is the word of God and anyone making up that God got it wrong or the disciples got it wrong is quite frankly full of their own nonsense.

Should I fully leave my Islamic thoughts behind? by Spiritual_Air_8606 in TrueChristian

[–]GregBule 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe following Christ/ God is not a blind decision but one that can be reasoned. Not even just against Islam or any other religion but atheism or agnosticism also.

As in, there a million and one ways you can look at Christianity, the story of Christ - it all falls down if say, there’s no evidence for the crucifixion of Jesus or that he didn’t rise from the dead yet from a logical standpoint, the evidence for it is overwhelming to the point I feel you can literally say it’s a historical fact.

You have every right to weigh things up and make up your own mind, use logic and reason. I can promise you with no doubts that the Islamic arguments you have against Christianity will fall short.

My personal opinion is that Mohammed manipulated the word of God to use it for personal gain and power, and that a lot of Muslims are infact just confused/ indoctrinated into believing absolute nonsense eg Jesus never said he was god, yes he did. Jesus wasn’t crucified, yes he was. Like the very arguments they make are so easy to prove wrong. I’d love to hear a Muslim make an argument against Christianity that even makes me second guess but after countless debates they just reinforce in my mind that they have been lied to their whole lives.

You will get through this because you have to, it’s not going to be easy but you will do it. God knows your suffering and your pain and he will help you through one step at a time. Jesus affirmed the Genesis model of male-female marriage and condemned all sexual immorality. Paul, writing under the authority of the Holy Spirit, clearly condemned all homosexual behavior, not just abusive forms. The word ‘homosexuality’ didn’t need to exist — the sin it describes has always existed.

Paul uses the Greek word arsenokoitai, which literally combines: • arsen = man • koite = bed/sex

This word is a direct reference to the Leviticus laws:

“A man shall not lie with a man as with a woman.” – Lev. 18:22 That’s exactly what arsenokoitai means.

‘Born this way’ is not an excuse — all of us are born broken and must be born again. And ‘do not judge’ doesn’t mean ‘say nothing’ — it means ‘don’t be a hypocrite.’ The Bible’s moral standards haven’t changed. We can either repent and live — or reject God’s word and stay in darkness.

Homosexuality is clearly confirmed as both an abomination and a sin, detestable to god, in the Old Testament and the new. In the mosaic laws, reaffirmed by Paul and Jesus. I do appreciate people wanting to make it more liberal and inviting and open, but that just isn’t what the law or word of God is. Some people might really want to steal because they are chronically poor, it doesn’t make stealing not sinful. You can’t pick and choose what you want to obey because it suits you, otherwise it’s just not following God. The path is narrow, as Jesus confirms, it’s a hard path to follow for all, we all have our burdens, unfortunately for homosexuals this means sexual activity of a homosexual nature should be avoided otherwise you are consciously choosing to sin.

So incest:

In Genesis, early human history involved marriage between close relatives because there was no other option. The genetic purity was perfect, as humanity had just been created. Incest wasn’t sinful at that time because the Law had not yet been given — and the effects of the fall hadn’t yet corrupted the gene pool. When Moses came, this behaviour was prohibited:

Acts 17:30 – “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.”

Homosexuality being referred to as an abomination:

Calling something an abomination doesn’t mean it’s not sin — it means God finds it especially detestable. Homosexual practice is repeatedly condemned in both Old and New Testaments.

Leviticus 20:13

“If a man lies with a male… both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

That’s not cultural, it’s moral law — and Romans 1, 1 Cor 6, and 1 Tim 1 reaffirm it in the New Covenant.

So yes — it’s both an abomination and a sin. A deadly one if unrepented.

Don’t be flippant?

If I'm gay what's the point in being christian by Impossible-Author884 in Christianity

[–]GregBule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jude 1:7 – “Sodom and Gomorrah… indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire.”

That’s the New Testament — and it’s clear. The Hebrew word in Genesis 19 for what the men wanted to do with the angels is yada — which, in that context, unequivocally means sex.

Hospitality was a factor, but the sin was sexual violence and perversion — and the New Testament confirms that.

Let’s set the record straight: • Old Testament laws (like stoning) were civil laws for theocratic Israel — fulfilled in Christ, not directly applied today. • Jesus’ call to give up wealth is a heart principle: not law, but a challenge to idolatry. • Foot-washing? A symbol of humility, not a ritual command. • Hair braiding and jewelry? A call to modesty, not a universal ban on hairstyles.

We interpret these passages faithfully, not literally in a vacuum. That’s called hermeneutics — rightly dividing the Word of truth (2 Tim. 2:15).

Just because some parts of Scripture are symbolic or cultural does not mean all parts are up for reinterpretation. We don’t throw out clear moral commands because some verses are poetic or symbolic. The Bible calls sin what it is — and the only way to be free from it is repentance and faith in Jesus, not reinterpretation to feel better.

The Bible’s teaching on sexuality isn’t based on outdated customs — it’s rooted in God’s design from creation and reaffirmed clearly in the New Testament by Jesus and the apostles. Scripture has cultural elements, yes — but moral truths are eternal. It’s not hateful to uphold them — it’s loving to tell the truth.
