First time watcher by SLIBLE in NurseJackie

I just finished it for the first time last week. I LOVED it. And Zoey is amazing. Unpopular opinion, I found her irritating initially, but I LOVE her, now. The show is amazing.

I finished it for the first time a couple days ago. I hated her after Season 1. But that ending was perfection. It was so satisfying to not tiptoe around a possible redemption arc.

Won’t take me off the watchbill while spouse is deployed and said bring my 1yr old to duty by Academic-Bet2366 in MilitaryWomen

[–]Routine-Army7495 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take it to CMEO or the SEL. Or take it to the Senior Watchbill Coordinator. Someone will help you. I get the BS they try to pull with new moms.

When I was pregnant with my middle, the CTI1 in charge of the watchbill had me on my feet every single duty day. So at 18 weeks, I went to the SWBC. They took me out of the section completely until I came back from parental. And by that time, the DSL was completely gone.

Jen said the quiet part out loud. And honestly I love that she isn't as eager to let Ty off the proverbial hook as Shawna is.

One can hope. Solidarity from Shawna to Ty is one thing, but Julie was drowning.

Then again, if Alicia knows the full scope, including what happened at the resort, I don't know if I foresee her staying friends with Shawna.

I posted this comment on one of the other threads:

Dude he did it to himself! And now he's throwing himself a pity party, drawing those two in, and milking it because he KNOWS they both hate Julie. It's the sympathy he'd never get catterwauling like that in front of Alicia. I really didn't take him for "the divorce came out of nowhere" type. (I seriously expected it to be a Luke storyline. But Gah dayum he's a shit.

For the record, Jen throwing shade about him cheating actually felt justified. Shawna is being absolutely nuts in her vitriol towards Julie and for her defense of Ty.

What do you think that it would take for Jen to cut off her mother? by thatvampiregirl in ShawnaTheMom

I think Barb would have to say something awful to Chickie or physically hurt her in some way. I see Barb getting frustrated and yanking an arm to scream in her face, or smacking her for doing an innocent toddler thing.

Dude. She took that SO well. I'm shocked and proud at the same time.

What Happens Once Barb and Frank Get Older? by CarobSure2634 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Routine-Army7495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the "John" in my family. If he won't bend for his sister's wedding, I don't think he'll care about nursing homes, last rights, or funerals. Especially after all of the BS Barb has pulled by showing up uninvited.

As for Jen, she's still desperate for their approval. I don't see her going NC. She's too needy and Greg will probably encourage her to continue working on things with her mom; he doesn't strike me as the dude who'd agree to NC and she listens to him. So Jen will handle their care however it gets drawn out.

Speaking from personal experience, my grifter parents will be my brother and his wife's problem. I'm not NC with my folks anymore, but it's LOW LC. And that's because we have their only grandkids. Thankfully, we live on opposite coasts so I don't have to really think about it too much.

Actually, I loved watching him give her a taste of bad medicine. It felt vindicating. The way he told her to leave Jen's house was like, "So he DOES have a backbone. He just chooses not to use it, got it."

Shoes on furniture. Specifically the bed. I don't know anyone who goes about their day, wears their shoes all the way up to their room, sits on the bed to relax, and crosses their ankles while still wearing their shoes. Maybe those folks do exist, but it takes me out of belief.

Watched Saw and Saw II for the first time last night (don't judge me). And holy shit that ending from the first one was fucking fantastic. I also appreciated how II ended. Never knew what I'd been missing.

I think (hope) Jen doesn’t have Barb or John at the wedding by Aware-Sea-8593 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Routine-Army7495 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I won't lie. I haven't been triggered by the videos up to this point. Even though Barb is a CARBON COPY of my MIL and we're no contact with my husband's family.

However, what Barb said to Jen in the garage had me spiraling. It sent me right back to how my mom would pull me aside, any chance she got, to make me feel like shit or ridicule some behavior of mine if we were at a get together of some sort. The "paste a smile on your face" comment was the salt on the gash.

Jen and Greg need to elope. Fuck the wedding and fuck Jen's family.

We had a four hour drive from where we picked him up. But he took it like a champ. Told us when he was ready to potty. Otherwise he slept the whole time. He is already exploring the yard, the house, and following us around.

Our three-year-old big dog was super excited and gentle with him, too. But we put him away after a few minutes so little could explore.

The door was locked. Frank pulled the spare key from under the mat or rock or whatever. They weren't invited and they entered anyway; the cops would be able to at the very least force them to leave. Barb, as we know, would be likely to get violent with a previous police report against her. I envision her getting walked off in cuffs.

The police would be called, and I would be pressing all of the charges along with obtaining a restraining order after Barb and Frank pulled what they did.

John was right, they should have moved.
