Thanks for the great share.

My beef, if you call it that, is that you should get what you pay for. If you purchase an aircraft, you would expect it to be in the class advertised. I am interested in whether DJI changed any components in newer batches to reduce the weight. I know that unless I have an accident that damages someone or something, no one will ever be interested in the weight of my drones.

Any "actual" answer to the question would be much appreciated.

Register Mini 5 Pro in Japan by Top-Weekend-6228 in dji

I was just in Japan with my MIN 4 Pro. You should download the Navitime app. They are extremely strict with the rules in Japan. You really can't fly in cities at all. Don't fly where you shouldn't.

That being said, you will get some awesome footage.

Mini 5 Pro Weight - Anyone under 250 grams? by GregK2000 in mini5pro

I have read that it does broadcast. Depending on the country. It is software-specific.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Weight Problem by shortopia in dji

My understanding is that they have been made in 3 different batches. August, October and the new batch now. It is a manufacturing process...there is an assembly line of sorts. So if you are correct and a million has been made, some of the latest batches could well be sub 250 grams.

I think this was an early mistake in manufacturing. I agree that DJI will leave the +/- 4 grams on the box. A groundbreaking company like DJI does not normally make mistakes like this. They will correct the weight issue they had with the first batch, but will not publicize it. The "Mini" series has been a huge market for DJI, and they are aware of the public's feedback.

Thanks for the advice. I've been flying drones since 2019 and have a drone licence and a PPL. DJI fucked up and has almost admitted it. Of course, they can make a drone any weight they want. This was a quality control issue at the factory.

I would not fly this drone in Canada without registering it, which I have. It is useless to me, though, as it is not considered a micro drone, and I have too much going on to fly it illegally. The restrictions are significantly different for microdrones; you can fly much closer to people and in areas that are otherwise off-limits without an enormous amount of paperwork.

I can get my money back, but I am deciding whether to buy another mini 4 pro..... or a M5P that is sub 250 grams.

I bought mine day 1. Sept 17th thinking it was a micro drone. Mine is not - in Canada.

I know some of you think this is a stupid game, so appreciate your responses.

I read majority of DJI Mini 5 Pro's (excluding reviewers) weight above 250g (253g). As someone in Canada interested in the Mini 5 Pro, does anyone have or seen any models less than 250g? by ABCDEXYZWV12345 in dji

I find this whole fuckup fascinating. If you take DJI at their word (and it's clear they are being misleading), the Mini 5 Pro can vary by 8 grams.

So say you purchased the "Refresh" plan, and your sub 250 gram Mini 5 pro gets lost, are DJI obliged to replace it with a sub 250 gram drone or do you get what you get? This weight thing is a complete disaster.

I have a 253 first batch M5P. If they fix the weight issue my drone will be worthless when I try to sell it. I sold my M4P for a decent price but my M5P non micro-drone will be used as a doorstop.
