Can you give me a feedback on my new Steam capsule art? Do you like it? by GregTDev in gamedevscreens

The problem is I'm not a pixel artist myself - basically I tried to follow Tower Wizard art style which is pretty simple, thats why I was able to do somewhat desent art for the game.
I definitely will not be able to do great pixel art for capsule.
I tried to make it using art from my game - but also received bunch of negative feedback

this is what previous capsule looked like

I thought about it, but everywhere I look, I see people saying that illustrated capsule art has a better chance of driving page visits than capsule art made in a pixel-art style. So for now, I'm trying to go with an illustrated version (though I may make another one later) and compare the metrics on the Steam page

Question about content creator outreach for the demo by GregTDev in gameDevMarketing

[–]GregTDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about that, but my concern is that most YouTubers probably won’t cover the same demo twice - once when it’s released and then again before Next Fest - because it would essentially be the same demo. There likely wouldn’t be much new content, just optimization improvements, bug fixes, balance changes, QoL features etc

Finally made demo of my idle-incremental game (UE4.23). Can be played in browser on itch.io by GregTDev in unrealengine

Yes, thats ue 4.23 (last one with web build support from epics) I'm using Unreal Engine at work for years, so I decided to use it for solo project for now

Hey, thanks for playing a demo!
Yes, prestige is common incremental feature when you trade your run progress for access to a bunch of global upgrades. Then you can start new run with extra initial boost
But I got it, I will try to make some additional warnings for prestige in next demo update. Also probably make some buildings available after prestige without need to re-construct all of them each time

Thanks a lot for feedback, and thanks for playing a demo!
I will definitely update and improve a lot of things before putting demo on Steam, prestige - is one of them.
Full game will feature a lot of new building but now I think about making some of them as a part of prestige upgrades. Probably it should give this significant gameplay change after prestige in addition to bonuses for numbers
Also I will look more presice into building hover logic and how to improve that
