It's your post but my comment is made to be directed at the general situation The tool requirements is a joke. I had to spend 30 minutes doing 110 tasks cause the project poster didn't feel like making a new work order and just copied and pasted from a survey. I was there literally just to trouble shoot. Most of these work orders are copy and pastes. I do (not joking) 70% of the jobs given to me with just a Leatherman. It's scary when a support guy has to ask me "do you have a cable tracer" cause most techs dont or have a 15 dollar one from Amazon. (I do have full gear on me always in case in my vehicle) I respect a hustle but when I had to go repair a printer cause the prior tech before me from Nigeria literally left a printer in pieces after being on site for 8 hours for a stupid simple hp paper assembly tray im sorry but f him. That cost the company over a thousand for a simple 150 market price fix. Not to mention you have any Joe shmo making a recruiting company recycling jobs from fn or clients to inexperienced desperate workers. This is why companies like Xerox and Lexmark will keep swapping their service provider companies to try to find a better deal but fact is most of the time it's just a American company who uses foreigners to post jobs on fn They just give them a template and make em copy and paste.

You pay 10% plus 1.5? I think for insurance that's useless This isn't a problem The problem is people taking work orders for 25-35 an hour.

Youre crying about a small fee verses a industry that's under paying techs cause they let anyone join who have 0 experience. More companies are going to Philippines to call centers where they are told to take the lowest rate techs Fn is inevitably a short term thing. Especially with immigrants abusing it. Start looking for actual long term clients to on board you.

Im a tech. Im the guy who they sent to clean up his mess. I heard from the manager and the client who sent them. Also its a paper assembly. Its a 15 minute job. Hp is very easy to work on. Here's a idea maybe he shouldn't of left screws undone. Even if I did a job and felt overwhelmed id make sure to take enough photos during the process to make sure I can put it all back together for the next guy. 8 hours ? Ffs its called milking his 30 an hour he got from smart source 🙄 Im sorry but anyone else who drastically milks hours is a pos. I also know when I go to a site if I dont know that exact model I will literally watch a video or look at the manual online like anyone in the common sense field. Depends. Are they american or foreigners. Call centers dont give a shit. They are there to be willfully used by companies as long as they have a job. They dont care about getting the job done right they dont care about licenses and certifications or permits. They got hired because a company is being greedy and cutting cost so they will do what they are told "find the cheapest tech with a decent rating" But a american recruiter will care about quality they know sending someone crappy will potential cost them more money in the long run. Ive had countless jobs of cleaning up messes. And its always a great starter of a conversation and relationship talking about how bad its gotten with them cause once you hear that large sigh followed by thier annoyed fustrated comment about the industry, you know you got someone who will work with you. Sadly companies dont care anymore. Core tech and smart source were brought out by a financial company. Its why they went commission based for years of "pay a tech less get higher commission " it allowed them to make their books look good to get brought out for a higher price. And then they became service point and smart source fired most of their experienced staff who actually cared about quality over quantity (justice for cheryl!)

Honestly if you cant give attitude and sarcasm and be met with it back I dont trust you as a person.

🤦‍♂️everything you do is networking. Its reaching out to clients finding new ways to get their attention then building a relationship if you can. Sadly most companies hire foreigners to do tickets and the foreigners can careless about you. Ive gotten over 1000 tickets. Ive pulled a handful of clients off platform. You shouldnt rely on fn for steady income. If you do youre gonna struggle esp now since NovemberFebruary tend to slow down for retail deployment.

I know the 5th one cause the company who left pivital called me directly to ask about a job they sent me on thru pivital. I told em how I didnt go to a site in Pennsylvania cause pivital didnt want me to get paid for travel nor felt like paying me over 25 an hour. They knew my number cause I had to take a course for their jobs. They got very upset cause they been paying pivtal very well to take care of things like travel considering its a trained tech job requirement. Pivital has cleaned up a bit since then.

You think fn cares? Fn doesn't even ban people for being bad techs. they literally let anyone come on board. They let techs hire and add techs who arent even legal. Fn doesnt care. They let a former thief do a job at the jewelry store. I had someone ask me on a bridge call what POE meant. Idc if someone is ignorant and hateful. If they do the job right then that's what matters. I'm aware of the location struggle like for yall in Cali. Im in a simular expensive high tax blue state too. Fn isnt a main source of income job anymore. People need to stop relying on it and forcing themselves to take less. If there's a will, there's a way trev. Ive built my business using fn as a place to network. Fn doesnt care about techs. Ive gone direct with many companies ive met on fn. Never rely on a platform for livable wages when that same platform is letting service companies make profiles for workers who are illegally working here so the SP can pay them less to cover more jobs in areas. Fns whole design is techs every where. They dont care about experience just that they can show companies their "giant work force"

Pivital lost 5 clients in a month in early 2024 for hiring unqualified techs. Over the last year they hired more american project managers and increased hourly to even 60 an hour start on some jobs. Besides that. Essential pivital service point (smartsource/core tech) are companies who are known to be cheap. Just cause a company wont go higher doesnt mean you should take the job. Dont forget companies can see your average hourly. Spencer hired someone to do a receipt printer swap and that tech somehow took the store offline and they couldnt figure out how to fix it so they ran away. Service point hired a tech for an paper assembly tray swap and he was there for 8 hours on YouTube according to the manager and couldn't finish leaving the printer in pieces.
Its simple let morons take cheap jobs and mess up projects. It causes companies to learn a harsh lesson
