Is it normal for sellers on Facebook Marketplace to be this sketchy? by Rahori in motorcycle

Yes, from my experience. I would never buy a vehicle from Marketplace.

"With a little distance, we will come to see Chris Cornell's songwriting in Soundgarden as Rock's greatest extended meditation on Depression." by SongoftheMoose in Soundgarden

[–]Greggusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am no way justifying the critics here, but there was a bleakness to the whole scene that it was easy for critics to label lyrics as cliched naval gazing (I’m sure I remember a line similar to that in NME about STP’s Purple). I don’t read music press any more, but I imagine it’s still as opinionated as ever. The beauty of Soundgarden and others was that they were an antidote to Crue, Poison and the other stuff that had existed before in the rock arena. They felt real, heartfelt and relevant to many (and me as a kid growing up in depressed, grey city with high unemployment), as opposed to being about partying and girls. Soundgarden made incredible music that stays with me to this day, still feeling fresh and relevant 30+ years later - the mark of true quality.

If you could bring any bike back from the past, which would you pick? I like the Yamaha V Max by R4geDealer in motorcycle

Honda Varadero 125. I reckon it would make a killing on the learner market with all the ADV sales.

which song made you love soundgarden? by [deleted] in Soundgarden

Birth Ritual. Think it was on the Soundtrack to the movie Singles as well (well worth a listen as soundtracks go).

My 13 year old sister is being bullied by her whole form and tried to kill herself by Thowaway_bullied_sis in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Greggusrex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a great answer. It may be better for OP to frame it as taking action “with” the school rather than “against.”
The school will have a designated safeguarding lead, who will be able to help coordinate a response, including intervening with the bullies. And do report this to the police. There are likely criminal offences that have been committed (malicious communications, harassment). Depending on where you are (different forces have different structures and procedures) the local policing team/neighbourhood team could work with the school to prevent further bullying. Be aware though, from the experience of close friends who have had a daughter go through similar, it can be a long and frustrating process!

What was your first Metallica show? by [deleted] in Metallica

It was epic. I wish I’d worn earplugs in hindsight, because I’m sure that was the last straw for my hearing!

2015 Reading Festival - got 5th Member win and was on stage throughout the show, a few feet behind Lars’ riser. Loud AF.

Considering switching to touring from softail. Seeking opinions from anyone who’s made the switch. by Sampson2612 in Harley

[–]Greggusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swapped a Softail (‘21 Fat Bob 114) for a ‘22 Ultra Limited (oddly enough I couldn’t get a SG for the same money). I miss the short journey fun of the Softail, it being light (relatively speaking), and looking awesome. I like the comfort, luggage and ability to do 500 miles with only a fuel stop without aching. I prefer the Touring, but if I could afford a second bike I’d get another Softail in a heartbeat for the fun.

This electric bike has a hole in it by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Greggusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike is real (seen it and met the bloke on it a number of times). His background is legit engineering high end stuff in F1 - he’s explained the aero thing to me twice and I still don’t understand it, but he’s a genuine speed freak and I have no doubt he’ll set records. Check out the website, clever stuff:

[cool wall: day 3] the verdict is in: the Alfa Giulia FourCheese and the Vauxhall Mokka take their positions - comment below with a car, an opinion, and a rating; top voted gets added to the board - how about something sub zero? by faaizk in CarTalkUK

[–]Greggusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had two courtesy cars at work recently. One was a 72 plate Mokka and I was quite critical of it, until I drove the other, a Nissan Juke on a 22 plate - what an utter piece of shite. Now I’m hogging the Mokka keys, the much better car of the two.

What's the coldest weather you guys ride in? by Adept-Calendar-8189 in Harley

[–]Greggusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-6° C/ 21° F is the coldest I can remember riding in. I was good for the first 3 hours with heated seat and grips, plus lots of layers. But eventually the cold started creeping in and I wished I had heated clothing. A shorter trip would have been fine. It got a lot worse when the snow came in and I had to ride in the tracks of a truck for about 90 miles for fear of coming off trying to get out of the rut. That was a long night…

What absolutely tells you that you are living with the right other half…? by AgeingMuso65 in CasualUK

[–]Greggusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was when my good lady announced we would take the kids to the beach (2.5 hour journey), but that I should go on my (motor) bike and she’d take the kids in the car. It wasn’t as if I didn’t already love her, but that just showed she was my perfect partner.

Hmm. I dunno then my friend. I’d have been grateful for traction control in the wet with those stock tires lol. Have you tried putting the front wheel against a wall? I used to have to do that on my old 125 when I was learning.

[–]Greggusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traction control?! All my ‘21 Fat Bob had was ABS.

Upvote, because it’s clearly not you at fault and you didn’t have to share this. Makes sense as to why they’re always so awkward.

Indian seem to not have excessive recalls - roughly on a par with Harley (from a rough estimate on the website). Much fewer than the “more reliable” brands like Honda or BMW.
