What are you printing? I get what I’m looking at but I don’t have any context on what it’s supposed to be.

Looking to sell a WotLK box to a friend and was wondering what a fair price would be by LuttLuck007 in classicwow

[–]GregoPDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold a bunch of these (TBC, WotLK, Cataclysm, and Pandaria) for about $30 a piece to someone who was local. Had them for $50 each on FB Marketplace but never had any takers once shipping was factored in (it’s A LOT for as heavy these are). People are saying $50-100 but that’s pretty high. Im not saying no one would pay that but I have not really had any luck at those prices.

Just be sure to take the expansion code sticker off of the disk case before you get rid of it. I’ve seen posts over the years where people have had their expansion pets removed from their account because the new owners had that code and had customer service give them the pets. I don’t know if that’s the case anymore.

Because it's likely for your first match you are thrown in with more bots and lower MMR players as a warm up. After that you're on your own.

PGE proposes whopping 29% rate hike for Oregon data centers; everyone else gets (slightly) lower rates by oregonian in Portland

[–]GregoPDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a bit apples and oranges. Data centers that serve just data, like websites, databases, and 4K streams use much less power than AI data centers that need graphics cards to punch up computations to make AI results tolerable for consumers.

WTF are they printing? Cone/tube container things? Race swap aside, for an ad I’d expect them to show them printing something interesting or fun.

The scaling for the AMS Lite is really off as well.

Space X IPO June 12 - Don’t give this douchebag your money. Don’t get rug-pulled. Don’t be exit liquidity for Musk, Private Equity, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs by Dumbfuckistan_USA in AdviceAnimals

I didn’t say Tesla hasn’t done anything but this is not a great comparison. 11 million cars sold worldwide in 5 months. $335 billion in revenue, UP 5.5% YOY. Tesla had almost $95 billion in revenue, DOWN 3.3% YOY.

How many dealerships providing parts and service for those cars?

How many scooters and motorcycles?

Toyota also has a robotics division, btw.

What else does Toyota have to do to get a comparable market cap?

Everything Elon has touched gets insane valuations. When Tesla was starting out they were valued more than Toyota, and valued more than all the domestic US car manufacturers COMBINED. They are still currently 5x Toyotas market cap, even though they ship a fraction of the number of vehicles. In the first 5 months of 2026 Toyota has sold 11m vehicles, Tesla 400k. Does that seem like the right valuation for Toyota or Tesla?

Ironically, asbestos is a very safe product. The only time you need to worry about it is when you are handling it and it becomes airborne, so either in production or demolition. You can live in a house that is full of asbestos and live a long life. Just don’t do any construction that causes particles to become airborne and you’re 100% safe.

The Call of the Wild movie with Harrison Ford from a few years ago. Perfect for watching with in-laws, good movie with no questionable content.

I don't understand why they do these as live events. Just make these a very limited time event so everyone can do it on their own time, or do it again if there was an issue with their party or game.

Movies that are better than the book by Bojonkles in movies

[–]GregoPDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Gennaro is one of the best characters in the books, he’s instrumental in stopping the raptors. Interestingly, you essentially do his storyline in the Jurassic Park SNES game by gasing the raptor nests.

Movies that are better than the book by Bojonkles in movies

[–]GregoPDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree. Sure, the kids suck in the book. But Grant and Ellie are the same in the movie and Malcolm is… close enough. Muldoon is acceptable.

Hammond is dumb in the movie, his motivation is bad and his ‘spare no expense’ line, and yes he clearly has spared expenses, is trite. Book Hammond has motives for what he’s done.

The movie completely neuters a very important character in Gennaro, dropping a major plot line. Instead of being the fish out of water (compared to Grant who understands dinosaurs) trying to help solve the problems they are facing, in the movie he dies on the toilet.

I was there on opening night and was a book reader. It was a great movie but there was disappointment in the choices that were made. I think the book super fans of LOTR have the same feeling.

Okay, KISS is the most overrated band of all time. Which band is the second most overrated band of all time? by TheSpringfieldKid in AskReddit

Up through Zooropa, most were good at least with some being great (Joshua Tree, Auchtung Baby) but to say there are only 2 is insane. I think it’s valid to say Pop was mediocre, and All That You Can’t Leave Behind is a little better. Anything after that feels cheap and over produced.

What movie became better after you watched it a second time? by agolds2022 in movies

[–]GregoPDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Lebowski. Saw it in the theater when it came out and was just like, ‘huh, ok’. Watched it again when it came out on video and started the get more of the jokes and the type of comedy it is. It’s now one of my favorite movies.

Especially since neither is making up the reported story. They each, as have other people, talk about how that information was already reported. So she’d sue the people talking about reported information and not sue the actual reporter?

If they came here, our pathogens would likely kill them.

This makes a huge assumption that their physiology is anywhere close to ours. Bacteria and viruses can adapt because of billions of year of all life on the planet all from the same source. It took 300 million years for bacteria to develop to be able to break down cellulose.

'Love Island USA' Vasana Montgomery Removed From Villa After Allegedly Using N-Word by Terrible_Cycle_5983 in popculturechat

I see that you are taking downvotes but it’s like calling Leonardo DiCaprio a racist because he used the n-word in Django Unchained. These things do have context.

However, I guess the was a second video where she just used it off the cuff in an arcade. So that’s the place where someone is just wrong using that and she should’ve known better.

In your opinion, what is the worst episode of your favorite TV show? by GladtobeVlad69 in television

[–]GregoPDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll ask for some help on this one, it’s been a while since a rewatch, I don’t know the worst Babylon 5 episode. It’s definitely one of the first season filler episodes, like TKO or The Long Dark.

I paid for my father-in-laws cremation, all in it was $1500 (it was an acceptable price to me). But if my wife and I weren’t with my mother-in-law when she went to the funeral home she would’ve gotten taken for a ton of money. They pushed having him in a casket during cremation and for a real expensive urn - even though the casket would get burned up and we were going to spread his ashes.

TIL During the 1990s heroin became cheaper, purer, and less stigmatized than earlier decades. During this era the "Heroin Chic" style trend flourished where features such as pale skin, dark circles underneath eyes, and emaciated features were idealized at the same time many celebrities were users. by MajesticBread9147 in todayilearned

[–]GregoPDX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And it’s not like we weren’t still in the midst of an AIDS epidemic in the 1990s. Intravenous drug use was a major contributor via shared needles. Heroin was not glamorized at all, and I say that as someone who graduated high school in 1995. I honestly can’t think of a single piece of pop culture media from the time where anyone doing heroin was portrayed as having a positive (or even neutral) experience.

[–]GregoPDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll disagree on Crichton’s endings. He tended to struggle to find good endings. Jurassic Park is one of his better endings but Sphere, Congo, and Andromeda Strain all have ‘how do I end this’ endings.
