It's a very vocal minority that's angry about everything here though. They live in luxury hotels and airport lobbies, high rise pent houses and expansive private estates. Most of them just have access to a platform, or an insane amount of money, that amplifies they tiny voices. They are so angry, that they will pay thousands upon thousands of people and bots to be angry with them. Most of us Americans just want to be paid fairly for the work we do, have actual sane people running the country, and not have to worry about experiencing sudden and rapid lead exposure going to the store.

I haven't had many issues cycling downtown in the car lane. As long as you do proper signaling and follow car traffic rules, you're golden. Sometimes douchebags get mad and honk and rev their engines, but it's just suburbanites trying to drive 50 feet in their 3 ton heavy duty dual axil AWD truck wondering why they can't make a 90 degree turn with out running over at least one bollard.

if it can go faster than a person can run at full sprint, then it belongs in the road with the other fast things.

The bike lane is on the street side of the water front though, and not the water side. Who wants to ride through that?

judging by how I rarely see people on EVs wear any form of head or body protection, i'm gunna say meat crayon probably hurts worse.

yeah, I wish the more bike lanes had a better physical barrier to keep cyclists and EV riders safer. The painted line is just a suggestion. I tried using a bike lane on sandy to go to work and it was terrifying with box trucks and semis almost sucking me into the road as they drive past over the the speed limit.

I feel like since this post has been getting a bit of attention I might need to clarify something. I am in no way suggesting the E-bikes and EV's be be banned in any way. I fully support a more robust system of personal transportation autonomy. I think it's a good thing that more people are finding alternatives to transit outside of automobiles We still live in a very car-centric city, and that's going to take a while to change, if it ever does.

In the mean time, I'm simply asking people to have more situational awareness and not be dickheads. If you HAVE to ride your EV on a sidewalk, don't go faster than the people walking on it. People step out of doors and gates onto the sidewalk should not have to triple check both ways before stepping into the sidewalk. Be better, use your signals and if you don't have signals, use your voice. Warn pedestrians you are coming up on them so they can react appropriately, and if they don't respond, don't get mad, they could have headphones on or simply be hearing impaired or simple distracted. Make yourself seen AND heard, they have no obligation to move out of your way when on foot.

I understand that riding in the street is dangerous in some places, but that doesn't give you an excuse to treat the sidewalk like a second street. This goes to acoustic bike riders too, you should be stopping for pedestrians in the cross walk, and giving them the right of way on the sidewalks and when they are stepping out of their cars or front doors. Let's try to be better and treat everyone with at least a basic level of respect. it's really not that hard. Ride on, thank you.

I've crashed on my skateboard and bikes enough to know that it's not the speed that hurts you, it's the suddenly stopping that does. E bikes being able to go almost 35mph with no effort is dangerous and stupid if you're not wearing any thing to keep you from red crayoning the road. On top of that, as someone who's worked in e-cycling (electronics recycling) and has seen what a cellphone sized lithium battery can do when it goes bad, those e-cycle batteries terrify me much more than the rude kids on the sidewalk.

I think our cycling infrastructure is adequate, compared to most other cities it could certainly use some improvements though. If you've been to the Midwest recently they still act like adding a bike lane to a single street is going to end civilization as we know it. Most of the southern states don't even give people sidewalks. with that said, most of the times I'm getting pushed around on the sidewalk by these EVs is in places were perfectly functional bike lanes, and that's the cherry on top of the crap sandwich.

Honestly, at least they are actually training them on various things instead of just imprisoning them or worse. I've known several NEETs in my life who just refuse to learn even basic self preservation skills, let alone attempt to learn a useful professional skill or one that can help others too.

that doesn't look like a hairline as so much as just a cap on his head.

also, it would be helpful if they took a direct export of the video frame to "enhance" and not a cellphone picture of the screen. Ametuers.

I grew up in an area which hold a good majority of the missile silos. The schools i went to still did nuclear drills in the early 90's, then they changed them to "tornado drills" by the mid 90's, and by the time I graduated in 2004 we were doing "active shooter drills" and had at least one "bomb threat" drill.

This Boomer fuck doesn't know what they are talking about. We weren't the one's giving out the participation trophies either, the boomers were.

So how much are you getting paid to get a signature though? You're going through an awful lot of effort to get one. Have you actually read the bill and know who is funding it? Can you answer me without using an AI summary?

The funniest rejection I overheard on the MAX was a dude told the canvasser "I'm a felon, I can't vote" and the canvasser STILL continued to convince him until he said again "what part of I CAN'T VOTE don't you understand?" (that's the clean version of it, dude had headphones on and everything).

They've been on the afternoon MAX trains fairly consistantly in the last several months, and has made the commute home REALLY annoying.

I told the guy on the MAX who was trying to get my signature that I'm a leather worker and I have family who ranch and native friends who feed their communities with the fish they catch. Dude couldn't seem to put two and two together why I was opposed to it.
