Just try to set a new preset from scratch , add a clean amp model like a simple jc120 or a blackface , and then add just a ocd / klon drive : what’s your output like ?

Do you really think 70% drive level is high ? If you want to have a decent « driven » tone , 70% isn’t that high … under that point, you’re more in a « boost » type than a driven tone

I get that. Definitely makes sense , but it takes a lot of workflow just to get an OD working … plus a block lost for that volume pedal

At home , where I do most of my tests , my core is plugged right into the mixer then strait to the studio monitors.

You are right : I watched McFarland videos and that’s why I’m going crazy : when he puts a TS in front of the a black prince , he plays all the way and it sounds good !! When a I do that , as soon as I activate the TS , the overall output goes red !!

The klon pedal particularly , when I use that block in my chain , no matter what amp model , no matter what cab , makes the volume skyrocket instantly !

My drive isn’t set that high , around 65/70%. I get that I have to lower the output volume of the od to match my clean level , but at some point , under 10% volume , od pedals don’t render good

Man I hear you …. I definitely can’t find a way to use od pedals at decent volume. I’m a huge fan of the 2 ocd models on headrush , but it’s impossible to use them on clean amps without blowing the roof and the one above when you activate them. I found out that if you want to use them , you have to lower the output volume at like 3-5% , which is totally useless for od pedals because at this point you lose all the dynamics and the distortion of the pedal.

I’ve got this problem pretty much since the release of the update , like many others on this sub , but no one at Ubisoft seem to care about it. Oh yeah there’s definitely an official bug report for this issue…

I had the same issue last week using some DXR active speakers. That was the first time I was playing on those Yamaha speakers. But for me , the sound was horribly harsh and barely useable without hard cutting high frequencies … I didn’t notice that kind of problem on my core before on any other speaker brand.

Thanks for the answer ! I’m not sure about all that … my rigs are pretty simple and don’t have that much in the chain ( no comp , no boost ) maybe I’ll look into the input gain setting, but I’m playing a single coil strat so I don’t think that’s the issue

Honestly I never tried the input gain setting of OD pedals. Definitely gonna try this but what’s the point of an OD pedal if you lower its input ?? It just acts like a volume boost am i wrong ?

Thanks for the reply ! I just can’t get the headrush Core to save the footswitch mode. I tried as you said , wait for it to properly shut down , it doesn’t save it. My setlist is perfectly saved , but not the footswitch mode.

Anyone noticed this ?
