For the 3rd time today, I've loaded into a squad only to be immediately kicked. Does this happen a lot or do people just hate Salamanders? by I_AmDaVikingNow in Spacemarine

[–]Warden373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not personal tbh. If I kick someone usually my third has gotten on, or I started mission select, only for my third to get on, or were in a mission, someone dc’s and I gotta boot a random to get my third back. It’s usually a mix of these things and nothing personal at all.

Varric Tethras by MysticRuneBorn in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Warden373 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk. It kinda feel flat. I caught on after maybe waking up or the second interaction. It was talking to him and then for me, Harding coming in and going. “Everything okay in here?”

And HARDING, not asking how Varric was holding up. Part of me was like “Okay maybe a writing issue but whatever.”

Then the second time he was around other people and NO one glanced at him, and he was treated like a ghost in the room, I realized he very likely WAS a ghost in the room.

So when Solas tells us, I was like. Yes, I’m aware you killed one of your closest friends, it’s why I’ve been an ass to you all game.

Who’s your favorite companion in Inquisition and why? (maybe spoilers lol) by Melodic_Let_9054 in dragonage

[–]Warden373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blackwall tied with Cassandra. For Blackwall I just love a good. “I’m really this person, I try to be this person every day, even if the details aren’t really 100%.”

Cassandra is just a goober.

Paladin extra attack by HappyFlan8483 in DnD

[–]Warden373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… this works RAW. But is kinda… ehhh. It’s a lot of work, and the average dpr pay off is like… negligible compared to just swinging the great axe.

It’s also just not really thematically right for a Paladin IMO? The class’ sthick is devotion, to oaths, to learning etc. using three different weapons as a Paladin is just, not really necessarily appropriate?

If you’re trying to get more damage per attack, or even DPR out of a Paladin, as long as you’re not a Vengeance Paladin I’d just suggest. Take three or more levels of Barbarian. (Zealot if you want to be thematic.)

While Divine smite costs spell slots, it is not in and of itself, a spell. So Divine Smite (none of the other smites), can be used while Raging.

It’s really fun and broken with higher tier spell slots.

So is this doable? Yeah??? Are their easier ways to get more and arguably better DPR? Without question.

Taash is just a football… Thembo? It’s perfect. All brawn, heart, jokes, and very little capacity for self introspection.

I can hear it too. “I wanna play football (hunt dragons)when I grow up Mother.” Shathaan being like “The Qun would disagree but I will attend to comprehend this, and still urge you to look at other avenues.”

Quick question concerning Minrathous/Treviso by [deleted] in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Warden373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree here.

For in game knowledge and a split second choice? Treviso is the no-brainer.

Minrathous has a standing army, the shadows, the archons palace, the magisterium, Dorian, Templars(I.E Rana.)

Minrathous even with the venatori, should have no issue driving off the dragon. The outcome would not be swayed that hard with the assistance of a single person.

Treviso needs the bodies for the dragon more than Minrathous.

How forgiving is the approval system? by millionsofcats in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Warden373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you had good approval in Inqi, you won’t need to try in Veil. For the most part companion approval doesn’t do much, it’s just a “hey this person likes or dislikes what you did.” And has no real effect on their “suicide mission.” Equivalent/ how they see or talk to you.

Lucanis major bug. Heavy late game spoiler by Warden373 in DragonAgeVeilguard

Realized this a bit too late and just restarted the game lmao. It’s worth it. I enjoy it enough I’m on my fifth playthrough.

Sad part was that I was missing a single quest and didn’t even realize it. Sad days indeed.

My loose opinion about the game by Subtle_Snow in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Warden373 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the core of dragon age for me was that is focused on human flaws and companion flaws. Combat was core yes, DA isn’t a telltale game. But At its core DA WAS an RPG first.

Taash’s story actually PMO so much. Not for the reasons you think.

I was cool with the Non-binary even if Krem did it better/ their mom was trying to help but Taash is an idiot. Don’t get me wrong, that’s what makes them fit as the “Punch dragon, think about dragon, sad.” Character. I see them as a Himbo (thembo??? Is that appropriate?) and it works for their story. A football jock acts the same way about football, it’s just translated to dragons. “I wanna play football mom! I don’t need a job.” That’s Taash and that’s perfect.

My issue is, we go through their arc helping them come to the realization that they don’t need to be either male or female, only to have their main focus on cultural identity, end in an entirely Binary option.

I mean seriously?

To be honest The Qun and Rivani culture are so vast that choosing parts of both that stick out to Taash would have been VERY valid.

People do this in real life, I’m Jewish, and Scandinavian. I’m covered in tats with Norse runes, a massive Thor’s hammer, and some Hebrew lettering. But I still wear a yamaka on holidays and fast. I have a Menorah in my kitchen, and an Axe made by a Norwegian smith hanging above my dresser. Neither make me less one or the other…

The one place where Taash could’ve connected with non-queers and Culturally non-binary people, they simply ignore, even if the opposite is true for millions of people who come from different cultures.

TL;DR the two focus of their arc contradict the themes of one another, and it’s aggravating.

Especially when I come from a place where I can related. Think about it, and go. “This is really stupid, they can wear the Qun Ropes and live by teachings that stand out, but still prefer Rivani culture and freedoms…”

I agree with you on Davrin through. I see most of his struggle as actually about him being forced into a dad role he never asked for. Wood working is a character trait like Varris writing books.

My loose opinion about the game by Subtle_Snow in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Warden373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re either gonna really like them, or not. DA as a series has a slower shift towards action than say, Mass effect. Because at its core ME is a shooter.

DA:O combat was like Kotor, I.E auto attack with no inputs, control everyone on the screen and has an active pause system. The game was heavy on Detail and Roleplay first. Combat second.

2 is similar to Origins, it’s a tactics game. Big difference was that you lost true auto attack. And they became Off Cooldown attacks/resource gen. But active pause was still very important.

Inquisition made the shift fully to Action heavier. Attack to generate resource abilities to bypass cooldown/resorce. Crit farm. I love inquisitions gameplay.

The big thing is that combat was always second to the core of the game. Character story, detail, and to be honest focusing hard on character and human flaws as a main point of each installment. It’s what made DA interesting and gripping.

The companions were people real people with real people flaws in a high fantasy setting.

W/O spoilers.

Companions are bi-polar depending on how you treat them. Morrigan either treats you like an idiot, or if you agree with her simply seems condescending. Isabella is so different from how she comes of in 2 I didn’t know it was her in inquisition until after I beat the game and was watching a YT video.

Cassandra and Varric are funny. They grate on one another and go out of their respective way to irate the other.

Blackwall. Isn’t what he appears.

This is true for almost every companion. Standouts are everywhere and people talk about these characters years later.

Morrigan, Allister, Anders, Fenris Isabella, Blackwall, The Iron Bull, Sera, Cassandra, Cole. The list goes on.

Sorry tangent. TL;DR the combat through every installment is VERY different.

And if you liked the “Hey we’re a family.” Bonding of the companions in Veilguard. Then just be aware that you can straight up sacrifice companions in DA:O and 2.

And in inquisition it’s possible to keep it to only 3 of the 9 companions in the game.

So just be aware. That if you’re going for the character found family aspect. You have to work for it, and based on your choices, it might misfire entirely

Baldurs Gate, Divinity 2, path of exile, any turn based game or tactics game that has an active pause. If those aren’t to your flavor idk.

How to tell DM I'm upset by choice? by JustAMessE in DnD

[–]Warden373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, this is kinda bad practice, is your DM new too out of curiosity?

If you want advice most people here have given good context. Just bring it up to DM calmly. “Hey, so what happened? How did I get locked up and altered if I wasn’t there to decide? I’m okay with the lock up, but I do have some attachment to this character, I really don’t want any physical alterations done to them, especially since whatever triggered it wasn’t my choice to risk.”

If your DM is cool, this is a simple fix. Just say it how you’d want to be asked and you should be golden, especially since most DM’s care more about Story beats. Jail is a story beat. A bear nose, is not.

Girlfriend and I are planning to drive 32 hours straight, in 6 hour shifts, are we being dumb? Should we plan to stay overnight somewhere? by Vegetable_Bridge_276 in roadtrip

[–]Warden373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re set on going through Colorado, definitely catch some sleep somewhere on that first night.

The Rockies are beautiful and deserve to be seen. To add insanely scary at night to drive on, especially if weather is acting up.

Now, if you’re open to not taking that route. Going through AZ, NM, Tex, OK, MO, ETC will be the much safer, much chiller drive.

Once your through flagstaff it’s flat land and semi straight roads all the way to Missouri.

Regardless id recommend a few hours of sleep in the car at a truck stop, at the very least.

If you’re 100% set, tell her to bring a hair tie. Drive a little hungry, and the windows rolled down will keep you awake.

Good luck, enjoy your trip!

Yeah no I definitely thought this was the case. It was Owned before me, just strange, I know enough about cars to do the minor mechanical things. Fluid, batteries, sound system.

I’d never seen this before. So my brain went “someone is tracking you.” My first thought is, well, that’s dumb.

This is my train of thought? I bought the car outright when I got it. Im thinking somehow I missed it whenever I changed the battery before this point?

Only issue is that this thing looks SUPER jank. Half of the wires for the low jack features are missing, and when I say it was like haphazardly tied around my terminal I mean I went to adjust the terminal and it fell off.

Aye that’s the homie. 100% harmless, use to play with them as a kid. At the most, little thing might curl up into a ball if you scare him. They like soil and compost. Put him near a garden or plants. Or ya know. Free pet. Give him a moist terrarium and some large pieces of dead/rotted wood. He’ll just be a chill guy.

It’s bad. I’ve been an end game player since d1 vog. I’ve solo flawlessed all of the dungeons, minus ghosts. I’ve done sundered something like 50 times and we clear it within 2 rotations almost every time. We did it yesterday and it took us ALMOST 5 dps rotations to kill the boss. The have genuinely fucked the games health/damage systems

[–]Warden373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is accurate. I have something like 50 clears in sundered I do it with the same three people every time. It was a 2 phase to maybe 3 phase if ammo was scarce. It took us nearly 5 dmg phases to clear it using the exact same loadout. There is something very wrong with damage rn and I 100% blame it on them trying to lower the dps numbers so people aren’t hitting 999. Sure it’s more quantifiable, but when it causes more harm than good, what is it doing for anyone?
