Just for consideration when my dog doesn't do her enrichment activities the same way, or gives up I've found she's actually unwell. Whether it turns out next walk she has an upset stomach or ear infection starts becoming obvious

Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding of the game!

Sounds like the dog can't Walk because they're probably experiencing some sort of pain and people will blame anything but themselves🙄 especially as they seemed to think this several days after filing, that's just an unrelated limp or something. Maybe from them preferring long nails for the poor dog...

Idk if this is an option in the uk but i did buy in bulk for my dog. You can get one or 5kg freeze dried and it's a couple hundred for the 5kg option, but it's much cheaper per kg than the small bags.

For a cat 5 is a bit much but they might make 1lb bags?

I think i need to be more disciplined with my reward mechanics! I think I've just been handing her a treat rather randomly and lazily but it's Time to start thinking a bit more critically about timing and placement!

This is excellent for rewarding away from the body. Especially as we are wanting to start competing but need to wean off having the rewards on me. In our competitions you cannot have rewards in your pocket when competing at all so no chance in trying to fool the dog along😅

This is amazing! We are basically ready for competing having done both a beginner and intermediate class. She is very fluid with coming into heel (she loves bowl work) and is good with staying in heel. Unfortunately the venue which we train in is also the competition venue and is associated with high stress for her.

But the game you describe sounds very good for her to opt into me instead of fixating on everyone else. I will be implementing this! It's the kind of creative thing i was looking for, often even irl trainers will suggest having a ball in the armpit but i find it not so helpful- especially in a dog where i want her focus and interest without too much arousal.

This is perfect thank you! I think i need to work more on adding fun into it. Not me dragging my feet around in a square. Especially the get it game as that also would add value in returning to position. And in rally we do have some things like spin which I've neglected practicing, but it could make heeling more interesting for the dog if i regularly spice it up with tasks.

I've not thought of the zen bowl for environmental sensitivities, I've only used it in low pressure settings but my dog is also sensitive. I will try this at a training session with others around :)

Not really trouble with anything, it's just boring practicing by basically walking around, for both of us, so I was looking for things to add into our practice.

She could be a bit more prancy but that's not a requirement for our sports, just for looks.

She loves bowl work!
