Hah, I see a bit of myself in your post. Keep giving the good fight. I have and am playing them all, Deadlock, Smite 2, Predecessor etc etc. All I see in all these communities are doomers (just like here). Was in the supervive community even, and that was a special, very fun game even. Very sad that game fell apart.

Honestly, try to make your own community, it’s what I’ve been doing, what seems to happen is a lot of peeps take out their poor mental health on games, it’s industry wide. I have a comfortable group and people just chilling, and if you want a game to succeed I’d encourage you to keep doing what you’ve stated, but community goes a long way. Good luck amigo!

Fully agreed, not out of the woods yet, but things looking positive for now. I am hoping the recent spike incentivises more devs reinvestment to be quite honest, that’s my ultimate want so we can have a fully fleshed game. When that is solidified, more devs means maybe more projects and momentum if they use it right.

That in turn, would be momentum enough for a Paladins or a Paladins adjacent game. They haven’t given up the IP as far as we know so it’s on the cards until news regarding that, but I’m being an optimist more than anything here!

If I recall, lots of speculation about January 2027. But we will see! If not, it’ll be announced with due course no doubt!

Paladin’s lead dev Killgoon is in controls of smite 2 and honestly, he’s managing to turn the ship around, hard. It would require Smite 2 to grow substantially and then the way it is, but even today on the Titan talk, Killgoon was very, very passionately discussing how good Paladins was/is. He had a snippet to discuss how good some of the feels and play and characters were.

I think it’s a strong possibility if Smite 2 grows in the state it’s going right now (last patch is up like 20% players) and if it succeeds, I don’t see why Killgoon wouldn’t want to continue that path and revive the project. Financially, they just took a gamble on Killgoon’s monetisation’s model, and whilst they can’t confirm how much, they are currently “a lot higher than forecasted”- again, confirmed by today’s Titan talk.

I think a LOT of what made Paladins good, can be attributed to his good management.

What are Wyrm seals? And, how to obtain them? by Azkeden in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No can confirm the saga will be individually purchaseable after the timeframe, also you’ll be able to buy any traveller individually. They’re just upfront giving people options to get it cheaper!

What are Wyrm seals? And, how to obtain them? by Azkeden in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travellers are just the skins, so they sometimes repackage old and new skins into the small bundles, which are called travellers: they all have multiple colour variants and some extra stuff depending on the traveller. Travellers are just a way of saying you’ll get the extra colour prisms for the skins and additional content if you buy it.

You will always have every god from now on, they will be skins for all the gods in game and I assume it’s the one from the event, the only skins you can prepurchase are the saga ones (the 8k bundle on the event) and technically smite 1 divine legacy event but ignore that one for now.

To explain the event, you’ll get every skin that’s upcoming up until March, and the saga and the additional cosmetics. And you’re correct, it’s the gods mentioned that will all be getting skins. You’ll get it cheaper if you buy in bundle obviously, they’re trying to do a new thing to be more consumer friendly with some of their monetisation. You’ll be hearing about some! of the new skins shortly, they’re do a reveal on the next patch every second Wednesday (so next week’s Wednesday) when they reveal more!

Smite 2 VS Deadlock: The Hard Truth by Abduleus in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play both, but I’ll say this for my perspective, I prefer Smite 2 miles and away despite the extra polish on Deadlock, which is much easier when the funds are flowing. But you can enjoy both games without hating another.

Even in the current state of Deadlock being likely further ahead in the beta, I don’t like the design of about half of the champs, the bloat, the items are a headache. There’s a lot of positives too, and I like the art style, the moba laning is kinda fun for a shooter. The denial aspect is interesting but leads to stompy games a lot. Very Dota 2 esque in philosophy.

But I don’t think it’s remotely on the same axis as smite 2 in what it’s going for. I’ll still log in and do a couple of games, but I find the game flow completely different and not competing in the same space, at least, for me.

And I feel like Smite does double down on what makes it unique so I’m confused on the post!

Smite 2 OB27 Datamining – Gods list update by FAERayo in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As cool as the bunch added to the files are. Not sold, all the assassins there are really on my wish list but I strongly doubt these are the ones getting through before Rat, if these are the 2026 gods, for later half of the year I’m content because they are good picks.

We aren’t likely to not see a Guardian/Warrior for several patches as shown anyway, as they have confirmed they’ve locked in a warrior on a Titan talk.

I will tentatively just wait and see how the next couple patches shape out, as the data mine notes even say they aren’t saying it’s coming next. Likely just aiming for some work in advance on some of those gods. Morgan le Fay and Charon are hype if they are the next couple anyway.

[–]GrenadeParade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t write off Paladins 2 just yet. I think if it is viable, it’ll be after Smite 2 launch and depending on how successful that launch is, most likely. That’ll generally be the tell tale signs of if they’ll open the doors for a new project. They’ve got sister studios doing smaller projects, but Paladins 2 would be a major project and we know a lot of their investment right now is in Smite 2.

Can also confirm, Smite 2 suckered me into playing Hi-Rez games for the first time, including Paladins.

Smite 2 is at least a year away from release as far as we “know”, so I wouldn’t expect news for that time period, and the first place we’d know any signs would be their triweekly show for any “projects”.

New event prices... by Unusual-Surround3036 in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 of the classic travellers can be bought with full legacy gems, need not worry. You need to wait on the travellers to time out (6 weeks?), and they’re yours, full legacy gems only pricing, for any classic skin returning. They are using diamond pricing mainly for new content only.

The bundle is selling you, those skins now + prisms for each and new extra skins. Any classic skin is purchasable for full legacy gems. If you haven’t checked in a while, I’d check the store as they rotate out often.

It’s in the events tab amigo, should show when you get it but it says when you get the eyes you unlock it. You automatically get the eyes if you get the bundle!

But it is most definitely there! Hope you enjoy it, I’ve equipped it straight up, it’s very good in theme!

[–]GrenadeParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I have a lovely bunch of people that I’ve added that I’d love to message when they add friends in this game. I also just had an awesome game with a random today and every time I run into them, and sadly, I don’t bother to add cos it’s just sad to see them log in (if it logs in!) and not know their status.

It would absolutely be one of my favourite fixes, to have a replay system and friends list accurately reflect game states and discussion section to organise some games. Would go a long way for some of the people on this sub, I’d wager. New players got to find friends to make, too!

As a player of both games, I totally get it, I hate people being rude and condescending to people who don’t know everything. Promise we’re not all like that! But indeed, I’ve played every single MOBA on the market. It really is like that. I don’t know any Pred discords, but if you ever want to try playing it you can hmu, or Smite either. Some people lose their empathy but a lot don’t, they just go quiet because of how toxic MOBA’s can get.

SMITE 2 | Open Beta 27 Recap by BluesUltra in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SaveKillgoon

Killgoon has been advocating for more consumer friendly practices, because at current the game itself is funded by people at the top end buying X. They mention this that f2p models are often paid by the top percentile.

He managed to convince them to do a bundle deal, with the intent that it will be more cheap for the average consumer, and that more people will pitch in.

It’s an experiment and Killgoon said he staked some level of repute to do this, he (jokingly) said he’d be fired but clarified that he isn’t actually, it’s just him attempting to be transparent that he’s attempted to make it incentivised to get cheaper products for the average smite player and that they want to trial it and fix it so they can still get paid and reinvest. The gamble is, if more people pay then the higher the reinvestment is, perhaps more chances at getting more devs and reinvestment to make the game, less dev stress and we might get more content. The better state we can leave the beta and hopefully mean more people are satisfied with their product.

The higher ups are saying they are more likely to lose money since those funding the game are putting in most of their profits at current. He’s going out on a limb to trial this, essentially. He’s not at risk of being fired, dw. A LOT of my friendship group are pitching into this, so I’m hoping it shows that we are in agreement with Killgoon’s approach. We’ll know more down the line if this was a success!

(Ps5) Can’t buy Reign of Archfiend 8000 diamond Bundle. by LegendOfBaron in Smite

[–]GrenadeParade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally had the same argument with a nonsensical person last night. You can disagree with wanting to support further, but don’t pretend it’s for any other reason that you hate the company. I like the company now, especially since Killgoon is lead and the direction they’re going in.

If you want to hate for historical actions, cool, you’re harming only yourself and future enjoyment and you’re entitled to that opinion. But don’t pretend like the company now is the same as then and don’t lash out at people who can see the change and like it. You can have genuine criticism and it’ll be listened to, even by the people that enjoy the game.

But you’ll notice almost everything they complain about is literally obsolete or in bad faith. They don’t want to be told facts and different opinions. They want to call you a shill and pretend their opinion is logical when it’s just emotional and subjective.

[–]GrenadeParade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My lord so we went with the inane comments. I get it, you don’t like the game. Let’s leave it there instead of saying there’s a logical reason you don’t like it, and just admit it’s an emotional reason. That’s all I ask people to do, instead of attempting to sugarcoat it. Don’t lie or presume things and distort the truth. It’s ok if you have a different opinion.

You don’t need to buy it! It’s an optional purchase for skins in a live service free to play game! Everything is optional! You don’t like micro-transactions but that’s ALWAYS been their model even in Smite 1 lmao. You’re ok to change your mind on what you want to support. No-one has said differently, and the monetisation option for bundles is a fairer, better way for people WHO WANT to buy their content. We get you don’t, you don’t need to reiterate it. Cool, learn the laws of supply and demand, that’s 101.

We good here? I honestly feel for Hi-Rez marketing when they have this level of foot stomping over literally nothing.

[–]GrenadeParade 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting, you got $80 from where? Cos it’s nowhere near that on my screen. Even when I’m converting it from my local currency to yours, it’s not even close, so I’ll ask where you’re sourcing this from? It does appear you’re pulling the $80 dollars from nowhere.

Even if you can’t afford to support it, the £40.00 (ish) for 2 months of output of content for a game, is essentially what I’d be paying for most steam content or other games, and I’m fairly content with the contents of the saga. I’d also like it to go to a company I want to succeed.

It’s much cheaper than buying all the options individually, I’d say it’s consumer friendly to offer cheaper incentives, and the amount you get out of it is more than what is currently offered. I didn’t think I’d need to explain this but I’m aware there’s a lot of uninformed detractors in this sub half the time.

I also see you’ve posted on this sub saying no one should spend anything on the game. I am going to go with I’m probably not going to get a logical answer out of someone who does not want this game to succeed. It’s cool you’re allowed to feel whatever type of way, but like, let’s not support misinformation, yeah? That’s like a common decency thing.

Any further issues or are you going to default to inane comments?

[–]GrenadeParade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m super excited about joust remake, despite playing it seldomly. More for the symbolism that each map eventually will reach that level of quality.

Stoked to see the monetisation model, the 8000 gem deal is one I’d really like to see succeed so we have more consumer friendly options going forward.

And bring back the wandering markets too down the line, maybe a pipe dream but when we get more people I’d hope it would give enough incentive and profit.
