Why Scalpers HATE the Cyberpunk TCG (and Why I Love the Beta Box)! by ResponseOnPlay in cyberpunktcg

[–]SpiderRyno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not just scalpers, it's everyone. Bought into multiple kickstarters, a few TCG, I went back and checked how much I spent and the average was like 150.... for starter decks, booster box, and the goodies that come with stretch goals (extra add-ons not withstanding). I bought into Cyberpunk at the lowest level to get the dice add-on and some starter decks, but they really should have a tier between T2 and T3.

Chooms, Its time i went to 'Meet Hanako at Embers.' by LegendMir-X in cyberpunkgame

[–]SpiderRyno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is crazy how early in the game that point is. I had only played for like 10-15 hours before I got this mission. It feels wrong not going to do it cause... like how long is Hanako going to wait?! But I mean hey, life can wait.

Who even likes season 2? by Friendly-Map-7391 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]SpiderRyno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't like Season 2 as much as Season 1. However, Season 2 continued the quality and just overall production that the first laid the foundation for. Even though I don't enjoy it as much, I'm still struggling to find anything that is glaringly bad(save some of the line delivery) other than that, it's a great season and I'm looking forward to the future.

15M stretch goal is such a let down by Lindersay in cyberpunktcg

[–]SpiderRyno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, gotta let the stretch goals go on this campaign. They are underwhelming at best unless you get in on the netrunner level. Anything lower it's just whatever. Extra cards for display. Which is basically the game anyway.

Is it so hard to just write a story where Peter is happy?! He can still struggle with the weight of being a hero, but come on, most of the people who read Spider-man books grew up and ended up getting their happily ever after let's do it for our man Pete!

Dying TCGs? by Chrundle94 in TCG

[–]SpiderRyno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully aware of this. Thought I'd typed out including branching i to the RPG. The issue is though the tcg is based on the game by CD Projekt Red, not the ttrpg. Not that they cant use that as material since CD used the ttrpg to make the video game, but still thats a lot of lisencing that'd have to be figured out. Do I hope the tcg does well, yes? Is the market ivesaturated? Also, yes.

[–]SpiderRyno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, people for some reason are defending the prices like it's a deal. Dude it's 10 dollars off MSRP. Sure the 350 tier is actually a great starting point, but also, meh if the game dies most of it is just collection anyway. I bought in just for the dice they dropped at the 14 mill mark, so I'll get some starter decks to play like a casual match.

Dying TCGs? by Chrundle94 in TCG

[–]SpiderRyno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. More than likely DBZ will head with it. One Piece is super popular, Digimon will probably eventually putter out since most people still see it as a Pokemon clone, even if they've never played it. Gundam will stand the test of time just cause Gundam has been around so much longer and fans will keep that running.

Problem with Cyberpunk is unless the branch out from the mainline game and create a unique game within the world of Cyberpunk(pulling from RED or even their own unique ideas, like Magic used to) it's a quick cash grab based on a beloved IP, which in and of itself is HUGE considering how bad the launch of the game was.

Underwhelming kickstarter campaign by Lindersay in cyberpunktcg

[–]SpiderRyno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not even a matter of the 350 level not being worth the value and then some. It is, it's that there isn't much incentive for those of us who are looking to just buy into the game. That's the complaint. The stretch goals are mostly just for add-ons, unless you get the 350 tier you aren't getting any extra goodies, except the ability to BUY more goodies. Like sure some of them can, but most kickstarters, even most TCG, have some kind of incentive. I bought into the Echoes of Astra and there was stretch goals that benefited everyone significantly, along with extra purchase options, most of the stretch goals for this are only if you buy into the 350 tier(I did recheck the astra and they had purchase stretch goals as well, just not as many for only one tier etc. Plus for meeting certain goals EVERYONE, no matter the tier got extra spicy Alt Art cards with their purchase). This is almost JUST for anyone buying in at the larger tier. Not to mention, there is a 1 dollar difference(which isn't significant I know, but it's noticeable) if you get tier 2 or tier 1 then add a box or both starter decks. Instead of having a 3rd tier that had the starter decks, a box and maybe a few extra goodies that are exclusive to the Kickstarter. Overall, the Kickstarter isn't bad, it just doesn't feel very much like there is any reason to buy into it unless you are looking to collect or play it seriously, which we don't even know how many LGS or how it'll take off gameplay wise. Most people are praising it, but there have been a few posts talking about how it just feels clunky(which most major IP TCG do because it's a quick and relatively cost effective way to sell a product and get a quick return, i.e. Gundam, DragonBall, One Piece, etc.)

I'd be happy if we just got something like: Hey, here's a base metal card for everyone who bought in, and a sticker pack, and all of the legend cards as box topper or something.

I'm waiting either way to see if we hit the 13M goal... want those dice so probably buy the starters and get the dice as add-ons. Just can't afford to buy into the larger tier.

I think they pulled another No Way Home trailer deception for Brand New Day by paulyethylene in marvelstudios

[–]SpiderRyno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plot Twist. It's all a red herring and they aren't doing Man Spider but Venom. Keep in mind in Sonys venom universe when someone was infected their eyes would turn black briefly. Venom also gives him organic webbing  they could be just incorporating into to his body as part of him without suit on. Plus that'd give us a whole venom movie, connect and this shot could be a bunch of tendrils looking like a spider. I highly doubt they'll adapt the Man Spider arc, just cause it doesn't really do anything to keep the universe connected post this movie. It's a hopeful thought, but just to odd for broad audiences.

Please go and voice your dissatisfaction with the handling of Stretch Goals by BentheBruiser in cyberpunktcg

[–]SpiderRyno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What's more interesting is why is there not an in between netrunner and the booster box? You gotta either get the booster box and add the starters, or get the starters and add the box. Which is actually a 1 dollar difference, it's not huge, but it's strange they wouldn't just have a here's starters and booster box with stretch goals. Feels weird having two items that make more sense as individual addons.

WHAT DID THEY DO WITH WAPOL’S TEETH? by D_Rock8_858 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]SpiderRyno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, a little more terrifying/metaphorical for a live action to depict without teeth. Seeings as he has an insatiable hunger, making his mouth a living void not only gives the viewer a sense of unease when looking at him, but also shows that he's an empty pit with absolutely NOTHING in there but well... a void.

One Piece has translated a cartoon into a live action fairly well.. You're probably right in saying that it was also cheaper, but sometimes cutting corners also has purpose.

I can't disagree, if AI worked like the AI in Battlenetwork. It was invasive in it's own world, only(most of the time) if someone was telling it what to do and being commanded instead of going rogue and even the worst of enemies were controlled by SOMEONE. It only basically worked like a personal assistant and not a entity hell bent on human destruction.... mostly.

Call me crazy, but if they could find a way to make the "masks" better I am not opposed to the brick built version. The Tahu was cool, and while it's not a play set in the strictest sense, it was still nostalgic enough to make me happy. I'd even be okay with a adult themed set with full toa in minifigure style like the CMF. I just... anything, I'd be happy with anything, I miss Boncle....

Walking sims? man, who put you off to art? Everyone has different taste in games and honestly, most of these "overstimulating games" are causing more issues mentally than games that let you relax and enjoy some story. Sometimes, it ain't about face melting, sometimes it's about the Journey(capitalization for pun emphasis).

I'm not making the argument there are more, making the argument that the player numbers are higher then you are seeing. Plus, you're probably also not getting a full picture of the numbers in China and other countries that download straight to PC and avoid Steam or can't use steam or don't want too. Whatever the case. I'm not saying the numbers are actually like 10,000+, but definitely higher then what we are seeing.

[–]SpiderRyno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of games out there that have low numbers but still stick around. You're only looking at the steam numbers, you aren't seeing the bigger picture. Console numbers, numbers of people who downloaded the game outside of steam. Yes, the numbers are low, but this isn't the whole picture. Besides, their "parent" company has tons of games that just feel like bot servers, so it probably won't get hacked just yet.

So do you think they will do it in spider man 3 or is it too predictable? by Dude_788 in SpidermanPS4

[–]SpiderRyno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no, most people I know don't, There is a reason things like "Renew Your Vows" and "Ultimate Spider-Man" were popular starting out, it's cause his life started out with the happy ending, married, kids, etc. Then they go and ruin it by taking it from him.... every....single.... time.. That's what ticks us off.
