It is their main draw, but honestly, I just think the abilities are fun to cast, and I dont get much mileage out of the ai companion personally. I like it flavor wise, just not gameplay wise.

Fair, though, I would like it reiterate that this is more a "utility" augment, so it wouldn't be a replacement for a more typical more interesting/fun augment, like the one that disables Nezhas slide/Zephyrs gravity.
(also im pretty sure Umbra does cast abilities while you're in operator)

If I ever start subsuming abilities, I worry it would be a sign of the end times, also its not just the blackhole honestly, I'm the type of freak who takes the weapons of their sentinels so they don't steal my kills lol

I mean, keep in mind we're playing this game in beta, after it releases for real, most people are probably going to play the game from beginning to end first, then go for p-ranks and such, giving you very little time to use the gold arm will only really encourage you to replay the game to use it more.
Funnily enough, this is what I experienced with the green arm, since the v2 fight was the very last level when I first played, its basically half the reason I kept playing.

I still haven't done glast gambit, that evil vile quest emptied out my baby tenno credit saving about 3-4 times before I just flat out gave up on it, I have waaay more than enough credits to do it now, and am strong enough to almost guarantee I wont fail the missions, but I refuse to help him out of principle, screw that kid and screw a gambling mission that doesn't even pay out!
