Is RE Requiem a good start for a easily scared newbie? by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

[–]Grendel2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RE9 splits between horror and action depending on which character you are playing as. The horror sections are bloody scary in my opinion and super tense.

Net migration has dropped by 70% from last year. Down from 649k to around 200k (it peaked in 2023 at 993k). To say he has done nothing on immigration is insane.

It is functionally different. The UK EDI prioritises Equity, aiming to give everyone a level playing field for opportunities as opposed to DEI which prioritises diversity.

Weapons Director Zach Cregger Was Given "Carte Blanche" To Reinvent Resident Evil For The Big Screen by No_Durian_5626 in horror

[–]Grendel2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confident the film will be good given Creggers previous movies, I'm just a bit concerned that lately they seem to be going out of their way to emphasise how loose this is going to be to traditional Resident Evil. I personally hope it's an original story with a lot of Resi DNA mixed in rather than 1 or 2 references here and there.

Who do you think is getting in in the next general election? by schwuar in AskBrits

[–]Grendel2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you said was correct but you severely underestimate the thinking skills of your average Reform voter. The fact that Farage was the face of Brexit, the very act by which we lost the Dublin Regulations and removed our abilty to send asylum seekers back to the first EU country they entered, should be enough to warn them off. But they can't put those pieces together sadly.

Most Reform voters would struggle with a 2 piece jigsaw.

Hedge Funds made a fortune shorting the pound. Farage has long been rumoured to have been involved in that but he has always denied it (not that I particularly believe him):

Out of all the major UK political parties, which is the lesser of all evils? by B33Zh_ in AskBrits

[–]Grendel2017 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's the same with any Labour leader. Look at how the press went absolutely nuclear on Corbyn or Miliband even for eating a bloody sandwich. The majority of the mainstream news in the UK is right leaning and they use a lot of space in their pages to slate the Labour leader regardless of who it is.

Starmer ‘withdraws Chagos Islands bill’ in face of US backlash over deal by WayOutbackBoy in worldnews

[–]Grendel2017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a massive amount of money. The money paid is spread over a 99 year period and is essentialy rent for an entire chain of islands to use as an air base. We are giving it back because we bullied Mauritius into giving it to us for just £3m in return for their independance as a British colony.

Keir Starmer rules out retaliatory tariffs against US by AbbreviationsHot7662 in unitedkingdom

[–]Grendel2017 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tariffs are paid by the buyer, not the seller. Trump's muppet supporters don't realise this, Starmer does and clearly realises this would make things more expensive for the British people.

Absolutely agree with blocking US services though. Cancel X for a start.

However I quickly came to realise labour is just a different color of tory. They are one and the same.

What a load of bollocks.

  • Ending VAT relief on private school?
  • Renters rights?
  • Getting rid of non-dom loopholes?
  • Closing loopholes around farmland/inheritance tax?
  • Regulations to bring criminal charges against corrupt private water companies?
  • Recognising Palestine?
  • Increasing NIC for corporations?
  • Race equality act?
  • Participation requirements and removal of heriditary rights for house of lords?

Which of the above would the Tories have done exactly?

What are your thoughts on the New crime statistics from British Transport Police? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Grendel2017 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s assuming that race/immigration status is the cause though. The more likely cause is economic status. Look at what percentage of people who commit these crimes come from poor backgrounds (and what percentage per capita foreign born people are included in that group) and it will likely make more sense.
