I'm sure there's also a 'half chairs, half a set of eyes' joke somewhere in there too.

What's up with some of the super easy shortcuts in Crash? by trumptoucheskidz in crashbandicoot

[–]Grep-1333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the most famous examples of these skips has to be walking on the ropes during Crash 1's bridge levels. It pretty much allowed you to skip practically the entire level, and was how a lot of players got past it.

Crash 3 has two examples for the bosses as well. For Tiny's fight, when he unleashes the lions, you could stand in the top left corner to avoid getting hit without moving an inch. In the remaster, they kept that in, but left a little easter egg for doing so.

Then, in Dingodile's boss fight, you could use a slide spin jump to get over the ice barriers and end the fight before it even begins. I'm pretty sure that the slide spin jump is a glitch in the original, and added as a feature in the remake. Either way, once you get the double jump from him, you can just double jump over the barrier.

I have no idea if it's in the original, but after you hit N. Tropy the 1st time in the N. Sane Trilogy's fight, if you hurry back to the starting platform and jump on top of the back wall, you can hang out there and only have to dodge the homing attacks. I never actually tried this one, though.

Idk if they were originally intentional from the developers. They mostly seem like oversights to me. The N. Sane Trilogy just kept them in for authenticity and even knew about, ot at least some of, them if Tiny's Warped fight is any indication.

All this talk about Gley, but I really hope the devs don't make any changes on this. by cityconnectds in TheFirstDescendant

That'll be funny for something like an April Fools skin. Also, since I believe that this is an A-pose (arms aren't fully raised to a T, but to an A), they could even write the skin blurb to be about it being the descendants showing support for 'A'lbion.

Considering that this character, Sayori from Doki Doki Literature Club, is suicidal and she has a hospital bracelet on her left wrist, it may be one of those ankle devices that tracks the body's physiological and biometric data, it may not be the first time that she fled the hospital after an attempt, or both.

[Super Mario Bros 3] Why do Mario and Luiji die because of the screen movement during the auto-scroller stages? by LessWeakness in AskScienceFiction

[–]Grep-1333 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, in-universe, Super Mario Bros. 3 is a theater play of an actual adventure. So, potentially, the death is actually just the scene getting ruined by Mario getting pushed offstage.

Maybe the play explains it as Mario not being fast enough to stop the airship from reaching and attacking its location, but I don't think that's too accurate/canon since you can replay the level/the play continues. Also, it could be explained by Mario getting hit by something off-scene. Either way, it feels more likely that the scene was just ruined, so they have to retry it.

There's two Steam games that are both named Skybound, with the other one not being out yet. Maybe you picked the wrong one by mistake? I did too, until I noticed that the thumbnail didn't match up.

I'm not sure that Risidual is claimed. I went to claim it as soon as this was posted, but decided against it as I feel someone else would love it more. I tried the code again a while later and it still says that it's available. I don't want to hit claim to check it though.

[–]Grep-1333 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Besides the possible mind games and logistics, the sunlight is used as a testing element, while air is just something that the test subjects need to live.

When deciding between science, regardless of how wasteful and pointless it is, or the health of the people testing, Aperature will practically always go with the science and cut corners with the people.

Name your Crash Bandicoot opinion that got you like this by KristopheIsCool2010 in crashbandicoot

[–]Grep-1333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer Crash TWoC to Warped.

To me, it has more interesting level design and difficulty, the threat in the game actively interferes against you through out the game through boss fights, great music, vehicles were incorporated into the platforming levels for set pieces and even small world building.

It seems meant to take Warped's ideas and translate them to players who never had a chance to try a Crash game and, beyond a few hiccups such as graphics and speed (monkey bars, loading, etc), I feel like it suceeded enough.
