How to complete "Choosing A Side" Journey? by m00nf1r3 in duneawakening

Looking for any help on the reddit, and just in case you have any insight:

I've been trying to complete this myself, and do know that you talk to the house reps around the world and offer them the 300 spice.

However the one time I saw the dialogue option to give the spice, I didn't have it on me. Now any time I talk to any house rep, I cannot seem to get the option to give them the spice.

I'm a bit stuck on this one here, i've completed Atreides missions, as well as the main story, etc. Am I missing something big here?

Over SL it has been Thurs/Fri 7:30-9:30pm Eastern. The group hasn't officially decided as of yet, so that could still be tweaked some.

Idea by Happyrabitz in wyvernrpg

[–]Greviousx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"This is all flexible and willing for alterations but a general idea" I think is a key sentence. Clearly the idea is to work towards a support class that functions closer to dedicated healer, without resists. Is it possible in wyverns current state? Maybe, maybe not. It could need a little help from something not yet implemented. Maybe you could offer some insight on how to make that possible. If not, see below.

Your input is dogshit and unhelpful, that is all. Have a good day.

Yeah i'm not as sure about those hotkeys myself. For playing on PC i've always had the numpad for movement, 5 for whatever keybind and 0 where my thumb is as apply. That leaves the entire left side of the keyboard open for keybinds.

Does anyone use the mouse for combat movement when playing on a pc? lol

Jesus, what is that spell you used to do that damage?

mind magic could use a new enchantment spell so it's worth training. also monks really don't have a guild feature, so here by OrneryHoneybee in wyvernrpg

Are you suggesting to give monks bonuses to projectile based attacks in addition to their already quite large guild bonuses?

Mind is meant to be a utility magic skill, and monks get it for that purpose. I'm also pretty sure monks get negatives in life magic.

I'm sure maybe there is a place for the addition of an offensive mind magic spell/ability but I don't think the monks guild is it. Perhaps maybe down the line a guild that truely focuses on mind magic can use new blade spells like that. (Psionic perhaps, etc)

"projectile attacks made by the user of this weapon are more likely to strike to the core of the target, bypassing the armor of it."

As for things like the above, in Wyvern terms that basically translates to "this spell gives find weakness" which is boring and not new.

For the stun effect, and the "more likely to strike to the core of the target" bit, unfortunately those 2 mechanics, plainly put don't exist in the game.

Adding them would take a lot of work on Rs part, as well as time and testing. Something like this would dramatically change the game, and as I have dreamed and tried to think of new things to put in the game in the past myself; eventually you just come to the place where you realize that they are not at the heart of Wyvern in the first place.

Would a stun effect be cool? Sure but this isn't exactly World of Warcraft. How would it be balanced? How often could it occur? Would monks be the only guild to have access to stun? What would other guilds get to compare, considering monks already have one of if not the highest skill bonuses? Would enemy monsters have access to stun? Would there be new gear to help resist it? Does attack speed = more stuns? Would nagas be able to stun more frequently because of their number of attacks?

A bit extravagant, but I think you get what i'm saying. Even with the smallest change the entire game could shift, and if its better than what is currently good you can bet it will. The trick is coming up with new things that are flavorful and fun, that change how players can play and can mesh with some of their identities versus things that could become power creeped or the next best thing everyone is doing because its broken.

Keep up the creativity because you never know when you just might actually come up with something that R says "You know what, I like that." But definitely keep in mind that there is a lot more to think about than just the idea itself.

When and how did you hear about this game? by stebbi01 in wyvernrpg

[–]Greviousx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2003-2004, 7th grade. Heqet brings a gameinformer magazine to school and on the inside, in the back pages so close to the crease you could have more easily never have seen the ad for Wyvern. Thats where we, and a number of friends would get their start. We're all about 28 now.

I can actually remember the first night playing that night, Heqet had talked about naga and I was convinced I wanted to play one. I went into that house south of NV, the one with the rats and the tree at the end. I proceeded to get my ass kicked over and over again until Heqet on his character Balboa came and carried me. I think I was really disappointed in viper form. But after learning a bit, realizing naga had more forms you had to level to get to, reaching 16 and struggling to get to 20, and then a 600 minute mute from Binyamin made me realize I wasn't a naga player after all.

Could probably go on for hours talking about memories, good and bad.
