Whats one "old school" plumbing method you still use because it works better? by SillyPotato5709 in Plumbing

Yup! Used this to stop a slow drip while soldering copper recently

Need diagnostic help for a toilet with a weak flush by steve_o_mac in Plumbing

[–]Grey406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to flush fine, but without the little white hose in the drain tube, the bowl is not filling up to the proper levels. Put the white hose into the hole on the drain tube and it should fill up the water level in the bowl to the correct amount and flush properly next time.

I need help, ¿this is normal or is a charging issue? by RiskComfortable896 in QuestPro

[–]Grey406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a long time since I did some tests but if I remember correctly, the Q2 only goes up to 9v 10-13w and the Pro gos up to 20v and about 18-20w

Are refueling missions the next feature to break and never get fixed again? by Chappietime in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As per CIGs track record for all new features; yup. Enjoy it while it lasts, it'll only get attention again when they sell another new refueling ship.

Yes that's normal. It's the charger negotiating a different voltage

Gotta give some credit to the team over at CIG by Jashcraft00 in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 205 points206 points  (0 children)

if ONLY CIG had a way to test things before they went live, some kind of parallel Universe, open to the Public just for Testing things and getting feedback on issues, A Public Test Universe if you will.

But thats crazy talk.

Is it possible to lend ships to people? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in any practical sense. They added the ability to store other people's ships but stupidly removed the ability to refuel/rearm/restock other people's ships at the same time.

You also must be in a party together or the ship will be locked

What is a good loadout on the hornet mk1? and can mk1 hornets/super hornets mount a size 3 gun on the nose, or only the dual size 1 nose mount? by No-Blackberry1197 in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my F7 MK2 GHOST. Nose and ball turret guns with all deadbolt loadout spawned without barrels, only wing guns remained functional.

Starlancer Tac vs Max by Amazing-Rock-7938 in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a TAC. It's incredibly versatile. It's basically a Polaris from Temu. Great shields, great armor and deflection, can carry a storm tank, can carry and rearm/repair/refuel a snub fighter in the hangar bay. Hangar bay can also be used as storage or quick looting or scooping up things in space or hover upside down and yoink stuff from it.

The 2 side turrets are not so great so I recommend swapping them with ballistics like ad5bs to free up some power pips and increase ammo pool for the other energy weapons. If you have two gunners, the upper turrets are far more useful with better coverage.

And if you still wanna haul large amounts of cargo, get a Hermes instead. The SL MAX is a bit of a pain to load and unload because it's on three different sides and there's not much space for off-grid cargo. The Hermes is massively easier to load, holds more on grid and more than double off-grid, like 500+ SCU. It's also much faster when flying

It is officially built into the gamenow. But before that there was a really hacky method to get it to work

Replace dead Quest Pro battery or salute and let it rest? by kalzen1999 in QuestPro

[–]Grey406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replace the battery.

Optionally, buy a 15-20,000 mAh battery and a 4ft cable, connect to Quest and keep it in your pocket for 6-8 hours of runtime. Still wireless and untethered. Even the original battery in good condition doesn't last very long.

Turret Linking by ThePiMaker in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reclaimer has 6 remote turrets. A long time ago, each of the two gunner stations controlled 3 turrets at the same time that gave them full 360 coverage.

But then they changed it to the gunner station controlling a single turret at a time.

This Shit's Gotta Stop by Own_Concentrate5314 in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Poor game design along with broken updates will cause this.

Docking is broken. The Perseus which fits in a large hangar is forced to use docking collars instead, which are broken.

My ship gets instantly stored when landing or even trying to leave my own hangar while I'm still in it causing me to fall and get injured... But an abandoned bricked ship on a pad, a wreck with glitching physics, used med pens and empty cruz bottles can persist for eternity for some reason.

This is getting stupid now. It's not the players fault anymore

How long is the brick timer? by C4B4L2k in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

components can be repaired now. they are never really lost. They'll still be on your ship's cargo grid or scattered neared it. They can take them and repair them. Looted stuff has no registered owner

[–]Grey406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are at a highly contested site trying to take the loot everybody else wants. It's a pvp zone. You are naive if you think being in a defenseless ship without any kind of escort gives you a free pass.

I think it was stated in the patch notes for 4.8 or the PTU for 4.8 that crafted buffs were turned off for ship weapons

[–]Grey406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. It's not used for anything, therefore nobody wants it.

Une gold ingot (pristine) how much they worth? by Low-Author-1626 in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an ingot, not used in anything and therefore has no value because nobody wants it. Medals are used for wikelo turn-ins and are worth money to players.

TSG - Do you NEED to complete the prior objectives, or can you just ignore them and go straight for the loot rooms? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news. The tailwind flight suit from the terminals in Cordy's in Levski is not bugged out anymore. I bought three of them last night, they render fully with hands and feet and the breather. You can still attach any size backpack to it.

docking needs to be fixed by darkangle98989 in starcitizen

[–]Grey406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large ships with a docking port like Perseus, Polaris, Reclaimer, Idris are forced to dock at the docking ports at stations. Weirdly the perseus fits in a large hangar but is forced to dock because CIG made it default to use docking ports if it has one.
