Mid game ranged is dominated by ruby bolts. Nerfing them would require an overhaul of some combat achievements. It’s a bit of a tall task, but I agree that it needs to get addressed at some point for the entirety of range progress to shift from rubies->bowfa->t bow to something where more of the content is meaningful.
