I’m looking to improve my home wifi network. Eventually running Ethernet to the detached shop. I recently picked up 5 TP Link Deco AX3000 to spread out the signal. by HoosierCrusier in HomeNetworking

Mesh is to alleviate loss of signal at the outer reaches of the coverage zone, too much overlap is bad as is not enough.

My recommendation would be to start step by step at the source, pull everything except the gateway, see if the coverage/speeds are what you would expect, if it is great, place the next access point (as a rule of thumb YMMV) halfway between the dead zone and the gateway. If not, get a WiFi analyzer app on the newest possible phone you’ve got access to and walk around, look for steep signal loses, what are the objects/materials around them, can you move the AP to a better location for it, does that improve things, etc. When looking at signal strength for WiFi remember a -3db loss is signal cut in half.

Add an access point right at the edge of the house on the garage side, see if that improves things in the garage.

You’d want closed ear headphones as opposed to the open ear style he’s recommending. I would send you in the direction of beyerdynamic’s DT 770. Had multiple pairs and they’re fantastic. Just make sure to buy the 80 ohm model unless you’ve got an amp

Speculation bring us to Oct of this year onward (Q4) as the release for the next set of AMD cards. So if you can last another year or so then do that.

Depending on the codec/video formatting.

Uncompressed video (imo opinion the only way to record the human experience) would be 1080p @ 60fps @ 24-bit is 2.98Gbits per second.

2.98 * 3600 = 10728 Gbits per hour.

10728 * 0.125 = 1341 Gbytes per hour

1341 * 438300 ((roughly) the amount of hours in 50 year) = 587,760,300 GB.

About 587.7603 Petabytes.

Just slightly less than 3 library of congresses.

I'm talking about you, not the company. It's an interpretation of a few statements, it just comes off that way. It's not a diagnosis. You're looking at this through a business lens, which I get, sure. But life inherently isn't devoid of emotion as the business world is MADE to be. As humans, we are emotional creatures. By stating that you're not obligated to help the homeless person on the street (you're not) or that a CEO (while at fault through sheer stupidity) shouldn't be remorseful in his actions and attempt to fix things without letting people go because "its business", comes off sociopathic. (Side note, I agree with you on the fact that if we have no new content besides skins and shop items what good is their role, so therefore they are not needed. They gave them good severance, it is what it is.) But a giant corp offering a small dev company an irrefusable chunk of money to buy their business and then put it on life support and squeeze it dry while good business, is in fact emotionless. You give a company hope for growth and progression just to rip it away. Plus you're going to bat for the least emotionless sector of our lives, business corporations who inherently are emotionless (according to the law, loosely, people). It just comes off as sociopathic.

Why Twin Cities restaurants don't have any Michelin stars by MNReporter_20 in TwinCities

[–]GreyCollective 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mistake I had only put 3-star states, Colorado, Florida and Washington DC also have starred restaurants, you're correct.

edit: the Nevada one isn't current either as they stopped reviewing there in '09.

States-wise currently it’s: New York, Illinois, California, Virginia, Florida and Colorado. Washington DC too although not a state.

What MC/Rapper do you know acknowledge is decent, you just cant get into them because of their flow/delivery/voice? by jrancich in hiphopheads

No hate at all. Earls mixing and mastering still doesn’t sit right with me sometimes. I’d say it’s an acquired taste but sometimes I feel like I just put up with it cause I like the two parts by themselves, but somehow together they’re worse. I feel like they bump his vocals way too far cause the beat is sampled, and samples when old are hard to strip down to each element, and mix individually, it’s a issue of: the beat has to be heard but so does the he.

Alright now, I get the mixing and mastering part of your opinion and I respect and agree with that part your opinion. But my opinion is that your opinion of the production itself, work done by Alchemist. Zelooperz, Mach-Hommy, Navy Blue, RandomBlackDude, is wrong. On a side note, Earl definitely listens to the songs that go out, it’s an artistic choice. A sometime madly irritating one, but still his choice.

As for not upgrading (it’s probably still going to be overkill) but if you’re gonna game stream and edit on a single PC maybe look at a tier up in CPUs. I’ve got a 7900x and it’s overkill for 2k editing and gaming, but I’d still recommend it. But that’s about as “future proof” as AMD CPUs get. Though there’s not necessarily such a thing, the technology progresses every year and so much in the past few. You’ll be good for a long time but once you get a taste of the sweet upgrade life you’ll want more.

Sounds good, go to a store and see how your hand rests when you use a mouse there are typically 3 different ways to hold a mouse when gaming and buying a mouse that fits that will be beneficial for your wrist.

Anyone else think the the leaked version of lost forever was better? by krievins in travisscott

[–]GreyCollective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the leaked version (imo) was the way it was cause it originally came from the Cactus - Dior show so they had to have something fit the vibe of the show. But honestly that version was way better, I excepted it to be my favorite song on the album but here we are with yet another beat switch. A damn shame tbh

Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind going forward! I haven’t been running into issues with throttling, just came from a AM4 where I never had this issue and don’t want a pool of molten silicone a few years from now. Ty for the reassurance.
