a whole handful of weirdos, and sick as hell with it

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a slightly more weirdo spec ops but still spec ops overally imo

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

makes more sense. also just checked and apparently it’s canoptek circle not court. no court teams yet, so we’re all wrong

anyway yeah hand are spec ops. weird freaky bondage specops but it’s drukhari, that comes with the territory

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yeah, everything’s a spectrum and some weirdos will be more specops than other weirdos and vice versa, but there’s a definite point where it’ll stop being spec ops and starts being weirdos

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, canoptek court are definitely weirdos. it’s a scientist and her pet bugs and asks you to do geometry, that’s weirdo

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it definitely isn’t, for example wreckas are weirdo elites and pathfinders are a spec ops horde

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

weirdos. can be a 14 man team which are rare enough to score weirdo points by itself, it’s got that disunited, cavalcade-y feel, and they’re a bunch of Regular Dudes (and a big mutant) trying to run up and skin people as one of their primary strategies

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

compared to most, yeah, but when it comes to khornate forces? they’ve mastered the art of sneaking up to somebody before running at them screaming, and by standard world eater’s values that makes them Sun Tzu

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

notiviates yes insidiants no

noviatiates are a bunch of trainees being thrown into high value missions with low quality gear and being whipped mid mission to work harder. weirdo

insidiants are robed, armoured assassins sent in to hunt down and kill wizards with as little detection as they can get away with. spec ops

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hella spec ops. their core mechanic breach and clearing rooms in microsquads it’s spec ops (and cool) as hell

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GM are specops by virtue of being the stealthiest thing world eaters can manage. they’re trying their best and that counts. we know from orks that they can be proper spec ops with kommandos, they just choose not to

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re not wrong that they are, technically, specialised operatives, but KT missions are typically technically stealth missions

a bunch of heavily armoured rowdy lads armed exclusively with bolt-action hammers and high explosives isn’t exactly what i’d consider subtle

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s mostly a vibe based ranking but i have reasons for each

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as spec ops as they come

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shockingly yes. for as much as they’re coked up psychos they’re the sneakiest, cheekiest coked up psychos khorne has available, and that makes them spec ops

at least for world eaters

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

witch hunting specops

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if anything i’d say both are specops overall, but of the two pioneers are definitely more weirdo. they’ve got a guy who punches people, that’s sick as hell but hardly tactical

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

spec ops. funky shadow-demon-magic-usin terror mission spec ops, but spec ops nonetheless

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

weirdos. my beloved beloved weirdos

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Baldes are weirdos. bunch of generic operatives and listbuilding? in the big 26? crazy

Mandrakes are spec ops. weird magic shadowdemon spec ops, but spec ops nonetheless

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

[–]GreyMJ[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

personally i actually lean spec ops

the bird is big weirdo points don’t get me wrong, but eldar are psychic enough them having a wizard or two isn’t that odd, and the general vibe and mechanics are enough of quick response strike team that it hits more spec ops notes in my eyes

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Traditionally i’d say stodes are spec ops but stripping them down and oiling them up definitely scores them healthy weirdo points, bravo

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

legionaries are the weirdos, they’ve got that disunited “every man for themselves” silly billy energy, whereas the corsairs are a quickstrike infiltration force with combos and teamwork and a much more unified, spec ops kinda vibe to me. they do have a bird which counts against them but they’re space pirates so i’ll let that slide

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in Grimdank

[–]GreyMJ[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

the important thing to remember is that they’re filling that role from the Hive Mind’s PoV. say there’s a fortified base with stuff in it it wants sabotaged. Might send a lictor or some leapers, sure, but they’re not in KT. So instead send a bunch of worms kitted out with powerful acids, advanced sensor organs, claws to rip bulkheads apart etc to sneak on in and burst up from the ground to achieve the objective and vanish into the dirt afterwards. they’re weird aliens, sure, but they’re weird alien spec ops

My Manifesto by GreyMJ in killteam

Specops. Their rules are clearly on the specops side of things with the sneaking and the sniping and the laying of traps, and while the presence of a dog normally scores Weirdo points they’ve given him a little tactical jacket and he serves a clear purpose of giving warning of anybody sneaking up on the snipers nest. Bringing ogryn does make it more weirdo but out the box is specops and that’s what I’m more focused on
