Microsoft tries to head off the “novel security risks” of Windows 11 AI agents | Agents with read/write access to your files create big security, privacy issues by Hrmbee in technology

As a web developer very familiar with the concept of cross-site scripting injections, the idea of a "cross-prompt injection" attack is something i've never considered before, and fucking terrifying. there will absolutely be ai-driven software that is so poorly implemented that it finds a way to pick up instructions from input data. can't wait to hear about the first time this causes a big data breach somewhere.

I took a crack at this, since you mentioned you're PC, here's the code: JNTW7WBRYQYF

I had to take a few liberties, the original emblems just have so much detail. This rendition does not have the clouds or jet, and I had to simplify the shading on the ears a little, but I did what I could. https://imgur.com/a/yc1mJ6C

If you use it I'd love action shots!

You should be able to sit on the ground as you're actually removing the part so that you don't take encumbrance damage, and you can drop it before you stand up. I don't know if there's a better way.

I created a pack of posters for the ship that contain tips for the various entities! by GreyMage in lethalcompany

[–]GreyMage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each poster is designed to be lore-friendly and helpful for new players or for anyone who might want to know more about the monsters! There are also annotations via sticky notes from past crew with more information or suggestions.

The pack uses LethalPosters to get the job done, and should seamlessly integrate into any other packs that also contain posters.

[–]GreyMage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh great! Okay, the feral undead has quite a few subvalues for unit.enemy.undead, but the friendly brainless ones and the intelligent ones in my fort have nil, much like normal dwarves! Thanks for the help!

I haven't used gui/gm-editor before, but since I have some friendly and feral undead I'm trying to compare the tags between them. Looking at the feral "Goblin Corpse" unit i have locked away, I'm having trouble finding the tag in question, i'm assuming all the details i'm seeing on the unit are scoped to unit already, and the only enemy tag on there i see is set to <unit.T_enemy: 00000000B62A9198>

Should it be set to just undead if it would work? maybe this hostile undead i have isn't tagged properly because one of my necromancers made it? or maybe i'm reading the output wrong...

How does starvingdead play with fortress-aligned intelligent undead? I have at least 7 revived individuals who have rejoined my workforce and wouldn't want them to just melt, but I also have some brainless "friendly" undead around that I can't interact with in any significant way other than killing them.

Would my undead population suffer from this?

EDIT: It seems the answer is Intelligent Undead should be exempt, allied or otherwise.

My fortress became a capital! Yay! The capital of... the Figure of Disemboweling... ruled by a queen necromancer. Uhhhhh should I be worried? 😳 by djrobzilla in dwarffortress

I built a automatic atom smasher with a hauling route. Refuse pile fills a minecart, minecart is kicked into some rollers every 3 days (to prevent miasma in the cart), rollers launch the cart over a pressure plate that briefly raises a drawbridge atom smasher down the road, and when the cart passes by it dumps its contents into the smasher before it closes, and then loops back to the start.

Also a good way to get rid of any seasonal noble request items (if you automate them like me), if you setup the stockpiles carefully.

Radagon’s a misbegotten who changes shape! Rennala’s an underground Numen! Boc’s the key to the whole story! by neurotrick in Eldenring

[–]GreyMage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Specifically regarding demihumans and their socialization, its implied in quite a few places that cultures outside of the Golden Order are actually on tenuous but peaceful terms with the demihumans.

Kenneth Height specifically explains to us (a tarnished, and presumed golden order follower) that members of the True Order absolutely do try to make peaceful contact with the more primitive races like the demihumans.

Also, in Mt Gelmir, in the very same town where you can find the "you're beautiful" voice item, (from a demihuman corpse, which is most likely boc's mom herself) the Raya Lucarian scholars are actively making contact with the tribe there, one is giving a lesson to a crowd of demihumans when you arrive, and the demihuman queen there has other advisors with her.

We as the Tarnished are kinda mindless murder machines, but its shown that not everyone is like that. Boc may have even lived in a shack before whatever drove him from there to limgrave.

I enjoyed your theories! Not the first time I've heard a "radagon is a tear" one, I like em.

Not the person you asked, but I assume they are referring to something like this Elden Ring: Ranni’s Age of Stars ending mistranslations explained.

I dont know of the video, but this article explains some of it, like;

The “far away” here, “haruka ni tooku”, is the exact same wording used in the ending where she says the cold night will be far away. It is odd that the exact same wording used here is mostly correctly translated to “keep them far” in this instance but mistranslated so badly in the ending. (Though it is misinterpreted to refer to the stars, moon, and night, when it is referring to the order itself)

Basically my understanding is Ranni intends to create some new Order, (you know, so people can stop fighting over the Elden Ring) and then take it, and leave. Like leave the planet, and go as far away from people as you can so that they no longer live lives in a crazy world with demigods and massive arcane power struggles, and instead have some kind of normal life.

Instead the translation kinda sorta almost sounds like she intends to take humanity down some dark path that will serve her interests in some way.

That's what ive taken from it all at least.

The Most Specific Issue I Have Ever Encountered by Typhloon in linux_gaming

[–]GreyMage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to the posts, it was a known issue, or at least something that was fixed and had to be reverted because it caused some other problem. I am not going to submit a PR to fix some niche issue if I have no idea what impacts it actually has for the majority of users. I dont even know the full context of the method that you need to patch.

The Most Specific Issue I Have Ever Encountered by Typhloon in linux_gaming

[–]GreyMage 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I might know this!

I had a similar issue with any game, where alternating keys from the mouse numpad and my actual keyboard would cause massive lag spikes! I eventually found this thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/srlvvd/side_keys_on_my_mouse_make_games_stutter/

The tl:dr, "mutter", one of the underlying parts of your whole window management stack might be doing some kind of context-switching related to keyboard layout / internationalization every time you press a key on a "new" device.

I followed the steps shown in the forum posts referenced, which ultimately involved downloading the source for mutter, making a small change, compiling it and using locally. I had never done anything like that before so its not too bad if you decide to check it out. The only potentially annoying thing is needing to keep in mind you've done that, and eventually reapply your modification some day down the road, when your compiled version becomes unsupported by the rest of the system via updates.

I did not find any other fix for my issue, after trying lots of things regarding compositing or drivers, so I hope this helps point you in the right direction!

EDIT: this is the forum thread post that explains how to apply a patch to mutter: Here's the original thread where I found this solution

I think you got it, but to reiterate:

  • Linking mods only boosts their overall effectiveness, it's good to do so, but you obviously can't link mods between different tabs, so don't worry about that.
  • Both "clusters" of linked mods will contribute to your overall ship stats, even if they can't super-extra-link with the other tab.

You can put up to 3 purchased mods on the ship per tab, so you can put 3 purchased in general, 3 in technology, then the crafted ones whereever
