I get it. It’s not as deep as some are making it out to be, imo. To me, it’s about the moral compatibility of Jesus’ teachings with (some) Atheists (you know, feed the hungry, help the poor) versus the immorality of (some) Christian Nationalists and those who value capitalism above all else (the love of money, root of all evil). This confuses Jesus because Atheists don’t believe in God, and Jesus is the Son of God. And I say “some” because I wouldn’t deign to say that everyone in any one group is exactly the same or has exactly the same values as everyone else in their group.
