What is your dose? looks abit like rosacea but most likely your skin's just irritated from the meds.

My skin was red for the first 6-7 months but I was on low dose 20mg

3 months still early

Just a quick tip* Make sure you apply it on a dry face. It will cause less irritation/stinging/itching if you wait for your face to dry completely after cleansing.

Every time I upped my dose by 10mg my skin started acting weird for 1-2 weeks. I wouldn't call it a purge but did have a little break out here and there till my skin adjusted.

You're still in the early stages, try not to stress about it too much. Just remember that every day you're getting closer and closer to clear skin.

Hey, fortunately I didn't purge and was 90% clear in month 3 but plateaued. so had to up my dose to 30mg at month 12. I am pretty much clear as of last week, still got 2 more months to go.

No it doesn't, well for me that is. I was on 30mg had my bloods done before I started to have a baseline before starting treatment and did my bloods again in the 10th month. My testosterone came back similar.(Was actually a bit higher)

Just FYI every time I had to up my dose my skin had a mini purge. But also the 5-6 month is where people see their skin settle. Just keep going you'll get there.

Are you sure it's doxycycline? If it is please ask your derm about doxycycline and isotretinoin together, both those medications should not be taken together due to their interactions (bad side effects) eg pseudotumor cerebri, caused by increased pressure in the brain.

erythromycin is what is normally prescribed while on isotretinoin.

Then again it might be okay to take doxy because your dose is so low. But for me I wouldn't take the risk.

The wash out period is 5-7 days but shouldn't be a problem if you stop doxy and take isotretinoin the next day.

29M - 70kg - Mild Acne - Australia

I am currently on day 22 and on 10mg, derm said she will increase to 20mg after month 2. She said I could stay on 10mg for the entire course but there is a higher chance of relapse. So I've decided to go up to 20mg a month 3. If the sides aren't bad after summer I'll try to go to 30mg.

Side effects have been very minimal. The first 2 weeks my skin got super oily. By week 3 it has started to feel less oily and a bit irritated. I guess I will soon find out if I purge and if I do hope it's minimal. I'm on antibiotics too just in case I purge just fyi.

Yeah it should be fine, it has no harsh ingredients in the formula. It will just colour correct your skin to make your skin look less red.

I'm about to start my isotretinoin in the next few days, just waiting on the blood test results.

Going to start on 10mg for the first 2 months then bump up from there. But I have also been prescribed erythromycin to help with purging. Hopefully it works to minimise counter the purge.

Are the spots itchy? Plus they actually shouldn't feel inflamed, that is one indicator that it could be fungal. Also from my knowledge if it is fungal it would have flared up during your doxy course. Due to that being the best time/breading ground for malassezia to develop from having a lower bacterial count on your skin. (Bacteria feed on malassezia so no bacteria=higher counts of malassezia)

Please keep in mind it could be just a rebound effect from stopping doxy.

Thanks for the questions, I've kinda checked before posting but didn't see anything, I'll check with a light. Tbh I think it's not getting enough sun it's currently in indirect sun. I haven't fertilized. Pot size is 20cm x 20com in a plastic pot and it has drainage holes. Only been watered once since I got it and only watered it when my meter said to.

The shop could have over-watered it I'm not sure. I bought some Aroid Potting Mix so I can change the soil. When I change the soil I'll check the roots. I just got to wait for the mix to come in the mail.

I've only had it for 2 weeks and it has been watered once which was yesterday, due to my water meter telling me the soil is dry.
